Energy Savings 101! I replaced 4 60 watt incandescent bulbs with these 60 watt equivalents that only require 7 1/2 watts each. Instant savings of 210watts! I continue to replace bulbs all throughout our home and to date have reduced wattage used by several hundreds. To further save I coupled these bulbs with a dimmer switch that allows much of the time to use only 7 1/2 watts TOTAL! (see photo of a compatible dimmer below). The light provided by these bulbs is a good strong white light at full power which is great for the adjacent laundry space. When dimmed they provide a soft light that is perfect for normal night-time hallway traffic. I have already found other spaces in my home where I can benefit from these bulbs and savings. I live in an area with very expensive electric power so any reduction is a help.

Pros Easy Installation, Eco-Friendly, Great Dimming, Very Bright, i expect very long life., fewer bulb changes needed

We have had very bad luck with these LED bulbs. Three bulbs from our first 4-pack have died within 1- 6 months! Will definitely steer away from Ecosmart and look for a reliable LED bulb.

Looks just like a regular old incandescent bulb. Fast on-time. Dimming works fine. Color is true. I'm in the final stages of replacing every bulb in the house with LEDs, and I'm now to the point of replacing some of my original "clunky" LED bulbs that had a big base with something a bit sleeker with a good distribution pattern. These bulbs do the job. Light comes out uniformly in all directions, and it looks just like a regular bulb. The color is good, very close to soft white we are used to. Overall, excellent. I had no problem dimming with my LED compatible dimmers. Earlier versions of LED bulbs had a bad habit of taking about 1/2 second to turn on after you flipped the switch. That's not good. These are fine, they come on right away with no perceivable delay. I cannot comment on long term durability, except to say I've put a few days worth of usage on these with no problems. I haven't seen very early failures like others have.

Pros Compact, Eco-Friendly, Great Dimming, Nice Design

I replaced 28 bulbs in my house with these this year and half of them have gone out within 6 months. Incandescents last longer.

Absolute garbage. Purchased for new home. 4 of them failed within 3 months of below average use. I guess you get what you pay for - the promise of long-life LED "green" bulbs seems to have much to be desired at this point.

1st bulb out of the box - I screwed it into a fixture, and it worked. I later wanted to remove it to replace with a cool white bulb. When I tried unscrewing the glass bulb from the socket, the glass broke off the metal seat. Awful! Thankful I didn't cut any of my fingers! Going back to store for refund. Can only blame it on poor design and QC.

They only lasted a couple of months, they overheated in an open ceiling fixture. They flickered for a couple of weeks and then died on the same day, hours apart from each other. I took them apart and found the capacitors had swollen and vented electrolyte. It reeked of hot electronics. The metal screw part covers a plastic compartment that is very compact. There is no way to dissipate heat other then through the plastic beneath the screw and into the light fixture. The compartment is also entirely sealed so there is no air flow.
