These are actually much sturdier and bigger than I had originally thought; and come with stabilizers which is really nice! However, my railing is in-between sizes (of course!) and without the stabilizers I would be hesitant to use the planters. Also, the description says the planters have drainage holes, which in my past experiences, means you can punch or drill them out if you want to use them. These planters have the holes already punched out, so if you don't use drainage holes, you have no choice with these, which is disappointing.

These flower boxes look beautiful on my deck railing. My railing is about 2” wide so I knew from the product description that the flower boxes wouldn’t fit without some modification. I ended up attaching a piece of 2x4 (which I painted black) on to the railing with a zip tie. I was then able to set the flower boxes on the 2x4 pieces and secure the boxes with the clips provided. The deck gets a lot of wind and the flower boxes have not budged at all in the 2 months since I installed them.

The planters arrived in a timely manner and exceeded my expectation. Although I knew the measurements, not only was I pleased with the size, but the quality as well. My deck railing is 5 inches and they sit perfectly on top. Although I used zip ties before filling them, it probably wasn’t necessary due to the weight and size. I highly recommend the planters.

Fits my fence railing good. Only problem was a small piece of plastic was stuck underneath making the planter wobbly. I had to cut and drill the piece out to make it secure. Looks nice and it’s a big size.

They fit nice and snug on our 4in deck railing. Absolutely no concern about getting blown or knocked over. The plastic is less sturdy than I was hoping for and a few have bowed out in the center. The color brown is nice. I only wish that it did not have the recess for 1in railing because it takes away depth for planting the annuals.

I have a one inch wide iron rail on my apartment patio which is a very tiny patio. I used a 1"x4" board (actual dimensions are 3/4" x 3.5") on top of the iron patio rail (fasten the board to the iron rail with plastic tie wraps with holes drilled into the wooden board) to set the planter on. I screwed the planter down to the 1x4 board.Use screws about 2 inches long (I only had three inch long available to me so they stuck up above the planter bottom). The wooden board must rest on the iron rail and not be elevated by screws that are too long if you exceed 2 inches in length. The product description is very confusing. The planter can sit on a one inch wide iron rail, on a 4 inch wide rail OR it requires at least a 6 inch wide rail to sit on top of the rail (not straddle it). Look at the pictures and you will understand what I mean by this.

I ordered 3 of these and put them on my deck. They are quite deep and I will put rocks in the bottom to fill up to drainage holes. They were a brighter color than I expected. The color will hopefully fade and the flowers will cover the edges.

This product is sturdy. I ordered ten of them for my four-inch wide porch railing and filled with flowers to prepare for my daughter's upcoming wedding. It is a saddlebag style so there is a ridge in the middle. We filled the slots with smashed aluminum cans and rocks for drainage and weight issues. They are big and you can cram a lot of flowers into one. They fit my railing fine and they are adjustable. Each comes with railing width adjusters (little plastic t-tabs) inside. You put the planter on the railing and then you slide the t-shaped tab into slots to adjust. The tabs on either side stabilize the pot and are pretty easy to use ( and to lose). I am pretty happy with these. The only reason I am giving the product a "Good" rating instead of an "Excellent" rating is that the adjusters seem a bit flimsy and that there really needs to be more colors options available. This color just looks weird on my railing.

I bought two of these planters for my front porch. The rails measure only 3 inches in width. After reading other reviews, I just added some thin semi-rigid foam to fill in a small gap in the space where the planter fits onto the rail, and used the stabilizing legs against the balusters. Very nice design. These are very attractive and stable. I am very happy and plan to enjoy them for many years.

Our fence is pretty thin (1.5") so I was having a tough time finding large planters that would fit the narrow rail. We also needed something that wasn't permanent since we're in a rental. These planters were the perfect solution. A little wobbly at first, but the included stabilizers have kept the planters secure and level even after heavy waterings. I spray painted ours a different color and drilled more drainage holes. Adding a chicken wire bonnet gave the morning glories and moonflowers something time climb on. We've been pleased with our purchase and really have enjoyed the extra garden space it gave our boring concrete patio!

These flower containers were only listed as being terra-cotta in color. When I open the box I found the color was Cream. Since I already had the flowers to place in the containers I just kept the containers.

I ordered the flower boxes and they arrived promptly. They looked a little different ( the texture is like wood grain) than the picture, but go great with our deck. Our flowers are doing fantastic in the planters and we have received many compliments. Sturdy material and attractive.

Nice quality. Sturdy. Also comes with adjustable clips to reinforce balance to railing. Home Depot sent out quickly, which made me very happy. I will get more in different colors for another part of yard.

The product description indicates this will fit on railings which are up to 6 inches wide - this is incorrect. I have 5.5 inch wide railings and this do not fit onto the railing. I wouldn't recommend these if your railings are over 5 inches wide. It's too bad because these are exactly what I was looking for. They seem sturdy and well made and the color (I purchased the ivory) would have blended perfectly with the color scheme I was going for. Sadly they're going back because they won't fit on the railing, and I live in a condo building so need something that secures to the railing to prevent them from blowing off when it's windy.

I hate to give a bad review to something that was made in America. The product itself seems sturdy & it's nice looking, but the product description specifically says that it fits deck rails up to 6 inches. As you can see from my photos, the opening is exactly 4 inches. It will only work/fit on top of the rails if your deck rails are 4 inches or less. My deck rails are 5 inches, so sadly this did not fit.

This is a very nice porch rail planter. It looks beautiful and will fit quite a few different sizes of porch rails. Mine is probably the widest (5.5 inches) and the planter grips the rail perfectly. So I would say the planter will fit 5 and a half inches and smaller rails. It also comes with some adjustable grips, as I have shown in the picture. I'm sorry that it is the middle of a very cold winter so I don't have any pretty plants to show you but I have included some pictures of the planter on the porch for you. It has some drainage holes if you prefer to put dirt and plant directly inside, or you could set a few pots inside. It's versatile in many ways. It seems durable and well made and the color is very vibrant. Also, it is quite large and very roomy inside. My flowers are going to love it! I would recommend highly!

Was not expecting the high ridge down the center of the planter. The others I ordered didn’t have that and I was able to fill the whole planter with soil.

I was expecting the planters to fit on my wider deck rail but instruction say I have to attach a 2x4 on the 6 inch rail. I am a senior and not willing to build to use them in that way. They are well made. And I will use them elsewher

These did not fit my 5 inch deck railing even though it states that it would. I had to return.

They fit more than one width of deck rail. large and had more colors than black. Easy to add drainage. They are great looking.

I ordered white and received terra cotta. Ill have to spray paint them before installing because the terra cotta does not work with my house at all!!! The fit for a 5 inch wide top rail is not very stable. There is basically a 1/8 th inch guide on the bottom so if your rail is over 3.5 inches be aware. I cut a short piece of 2x4 that I screwed to the top rail and then set the box over it. Seems well made though.
