    Stainless gate latch
Item does what it says and the installation instructions are easy to follow. This will be nice for my short wife who had trouble reaching over the gate in the past to open the gate. The only negative is the end of the cable that hooks onto the gate latch. It is too narrow to fit the latch very well. I had to bend it a little to get it to work, but I suspect that down the road I will have to reattach the end again.

    not what I needed
The product was only ok, but not what I needed for my gate. I was able to locate what I really wanted online.

Simple and works well for what it was intended.
Its a simple and well built steel cable. A clip on one end to attach to the gate latch and a loop on the other end to aid in pulling. Its been on my gate for months now and still going strong and that is saying a lot coming from me, because the kids run back and forth through that gate every day. So if it can stand up to them for this long. I don't see having any problems with it. I one of those nail on cable mounts to keep the cable from sticking to far out from the gate, while it still remains loose enough to pull. It has worked great.

    works well, clip is flimsy
I've been using this in my backyard for several months now and there are no signs of rust at this time. My only issue with the is the quality of the clip used to connect to you latch. this bends rather easily during installation. SO I had to bend the hook back by hand (as it was easy enough to do without pliers). So now I conscious about pulling to hard when I'm on the other side of the gate. If the clip was a bit thicker or stronger this would be a 5 star product. but as it is. I only gave it 3 stars.

A simple replacement for what it is
I cannot speak to the durability of the 0.78 in. x 12.2 in. Stainless Steel Gate Latch Cable but for what it is worth it was simple installation to replace the broken cable that was attached to a lynch pin on my utility trailer. The cables construction allows for it to be used universally on any gate latch or lynch pin - loop through and clasp. Being that the cable is stainless steel I fully expect the cable to last for quite some time

Great Stainless Steel Gate Latch Cable
This little stainless steel gate latch cable offers me that extra security that is needed to keep me and mine safer. The chain link and padlock I have always used just needed a slight upgrade and this stainless steel latch cable offers me that and more. I really have no interest in becoming a victim of the ones without hope and if I can slow them down by simply putting an extra cable on my gate I am more than happy to do that. This cable is sturdy and efficient and I hope to have it for many more years to come. I truly do recommend it.

Easy to install, but that's the only thing to recommend it. Use a piece of string instead.
Fell off about the third time the kids used it. Replaced it with a length of parachute cord and a short piece of dowel. The snap just isn't secure enough to do the job. Anything more than a light pull and the latch cable comes off in your hand.

    Very bad product
It installed easily then the clip pulled off on the very first attempt to open the gate.

      Broke the first day
For years I had used the old string on a button device for my latch opener and beyond having to change it or it untying on occasion it did the job of opening the latch from the outside quite well. My wife was in home depot and purchased this device to replace the string and button. Installed easily and broke at the fastener within a day of use, two to five gate openings max. Needs re engineering at the attachemment to the latch to work and why not vinyl coat the wire also at the same time!

I was hesitant to use this cable on my gate latch. I had used the "Tool-Time" set up on one of my other "Adust-A-Gates. The "Tool-Time" broke the farrell the 1rst day but still seems to work. So I purchased the Home Depot cable for one of my other gates. I drilled a 9/32" hole and fed the cable through to the latch. It works excellent! Great product! And it's about 1/3rd the cost of the "Tool-Time" set-up!

So far so good with my own engineering
I give this one 3 stars for now. I like the gate latch cable design from Tool Time much better but I decided to give this one a try since it was half the price and I could pick it up locally. It was easy to install however I did add my own spring between the post and gate latch by threading the cable through the spring to assist in making sure the latch catch sprung back into place. This should be a part included with the cable. So far it's doing it's job. Time will tell how long it lasts.

          Do not buy this!!!
This is a practical joke! It broke the very first time. I usually experience good stuff when I but from the Home Depot. But this one was a total waste.
