This 1/8" galvanized wire rope is great for all sorts of projects, tension-related or not. I used it to hold my firewood rack sides together. Easy to cut with my mini-bolt cutters and I had minor unraveling. I used ferrul and stops to secure it. I also added a 5/16 turnbuckle to add and remove tension from the wire as the wood pile is used/filled. This wire rope is galvanized so it will withstand rust for awhile. Weight tension is 340 lbs.

I used this cable to hang string lights. Cable was easy to work with, clamps work easily on the ends. Can be snipped to length with medium sized wire snips so no special tool needed. Plenty strong so there is no snag over a 20 foot length to the next post- added turnbuckles to enable me to tighten cable to the tension desired.
