Screws stripped very easily. Even with pilot holes drilled it was tough to get them in without stripping. Several broke off while I was screwing them in

Trying to join 2x4 and every screw stripped immediately, the thread bite is strong but the head is very soft, I had to drill around the screw multiple times to get the damaged screw out

Screw tip is so soft it shredded in seconds. I have to use a plyer to remove it back out from the wood.

Screws work great. I used them to fasten a kitchen wall cabinet to a garage wall with studs.

these were used in an outside application, that is why I choose zinc coated.

This is a terrible way to buy screws, in a wasteful and overpriced package of two. The screws were okay, but did seem weak and insubstantial.

Don’t buy everbilt screws for anything. They are the weakest pot metal junk I’ve ever seen. I can’t even screw them in by hand without the screw breaking in half, even with an oversized pilot hole to reduce the amount of thread in the wood. Absolute garbage, don’t waste your time or money or frustration, you’ll just end up having to drill new holes. I wish I could give these negative stars

It's always a gamble when you buy just enough for a job. This time I wanted to anchor a shelf bracket into a wall stud. I drilled a 3/64th inch pilot hole 2 inches deep through the drywall and into the stud. I then used a hand screwdriver, #3 crosstip, to screw in the first of three screws for the bracket. At two inches depth the resistence increased significantly. Then, with a forceful twist, the screw sheared off 1/8th inch below the surface. I drilled new 1/8th inch pilot holes 3 inches deep. The remaining screws are holding. Always be aware that in a small sample size it is possible to get something more than one standard deviation below average strength. Because I was not using a torque wrench, I do not know exactly how much torque I actually applied. I also have been twisting apart screws and bolts up to 1/2 inch shanks using hand tools since I was 8 years old. For the price, I am not interested in doing a forensic analysis of the failure of this screw. I rated this as average because an average screw is designed to perform very well when properly selected for the job. Consider the material the screw will fastening. How much pull strength do you need per screw? How much shear strength do you need? What moisture will the screw be exposed to? What other metals will the screw come into contact with, how will those metals react? What is the expected life of your product? What are the potential consequences of a point failure? Experiance is a good teacher but you can also learn a lot in school.

The zinc screws are not worth the cheap price. Very light duty application only, any resistance and the head will strip.

Dear Home Depot; These Phillips flat head screws were, indeed, among the finest fasteners I have ever purchased! The heads were quite flat, and the zinc plating glistened in the morning sun. While I only used a few, I look forward to using the remaining screws on a future project. (I can’t believe you sent me an email over a box of screws)

They did the job I bought them for.
