Bought these after scouring the Internet and other big box stores. Best value and construction out there. I cant stand wire shelves. Built my wife's closet first and she loves it. Now I am building mine. Great product. Very easy to work with and very strong when done.

    Very poor quality!
Product looks good, but it is not reliable. We have installed it twice, and both times the plastic tips of the clips that hold the bar would chip off, and entire bar with clothe on it has collapsed twice when clothe was not even touched touched or moved from side to side. We have spent money, time and effort on the product that is absolutely worthless!!! We are looking for a new product, since we found collapsed closet once again today! It is upsetting to see the clothe again on the floor and completely wasted money and labor.

There is a major quality control problem with these brackets. The rod holders don't line up from bracket to bracket when you put all the brackets level for the shelf. I had to bend the holders to make it work but that scratches the finish and a real pain.

These are a little tricky to install, I used 5 of them on a closet organizer. The problem was that my back wall has a slight bow in it so the clothes hanger bar would not fit perfectly in the bracket's holder. The holder is plastic and broke very easily when I tried to snap the bar in. The bar still rests on the holder but the snapped plastic piece is a bit unsightly. Overall though, they are sturdy, built well and got the job done.

This did not hold any weight whatsoever. We used this for 20 suits and jackets and it fell down in a week or so. We didn't even get to the phase where we were going to add shelving to the top. You probably need twice as many of these as you intuitively would use.

Love the bracket. I screwed 2 of these brackets into the studs of my closet with no problems. There are specific screws you can buy that fit perfectly, just ask the hardware associate. The brackets are 5 1/2 feet apart and are very sturdy. I screwed in a shelf on top and the brackets hold the weight on the shelves with no problems. They look amazing and are very sturdy. Also, there are no problems with the bar being held in place to hang cloths. I am very pleased and will definitely be buying more.

I really like these shelf brackets. They were quite a bit pricier than your standard shelf bracket, but it is really rigid and the plastic bar holder is good quality and looks much better than your cheaper options. The steel that it is made of is also a much better quality and gauge than the standard brackets. I would actually really recommend that if you are going to put in some closet rod shelf brackets to spend the extra couple of dollars for these!

Great rod bracket, seems very sturdy and well built. It can be a little tricky installing the screws because of the downward cross bracket, it gets in the way of cordless screwdrivers and we ended up using a long manual screwdriver, but its solid.

These are very heavy brackets to provide outstanding support for the rod and shelf. The plastic rod holder provides a little "snap" to hold the rod in place and can break if you drop the bracket. Due to the arrangements of studs in my closet and desire for symmetry I used more brackets than necessary. If you find the alignment of the rod holder is a little off when you go to install the rod, I found that you can slightly bend the "J-hook" extension of the bracket. The easiest way was to slip off the plastic rod holder then slip the closed end of a combination wrench onto the J area to apply the needed force to bend. A length of wrench is helpful as the metal is pretty tough. Worked great.

              Inconvenient screw holed
Looking good merchandise. But to put it in place is a challenge. Hard to put in screws when screwdriver is at the angle.

Not a great grasp on the bar but attractive
It is as attractive as a closet shelf bracket can be however I want to point out just a couple of things. 1, it does not grasp the closet rod very well and 2, it does not come with screws so you are desperately trying to find ones that don't slip through very large holes yet also look ok. Still, reasonable purchase but considering you have to go buy screws as well, not as great of a purchase.

                Great Value
These are very strong metal brackets to hold a clothes pole and / or set up shelves. If putting up shelves, they come in different depths. There are 3 screw holes to hold the bracket. I put mine in a remodeled closet to help support a closet clothes pole. It does not come with screws. I used 2 inch drywall screws and made sure I anchored to the wood beams inside the walls. You will find these in stock in the closet section.

                poor quality control, questionable design
I used two of these to help support a 7' closet rod and shelf. I mistakenly assumed the two rods would be roughly the same shape, unfortunately one of them is slightly lower than the other, so the weight of the rod is mostly going to be on the higher of the two. If you buy these at home depot, make sure you inspect them prior to purchase and select ones that have similar dimensions. I probably would have done that if I read these reviews more carefully. I figured I could bend the support a bit, but I think I would probably break it before it would bend. I am concerned that heavy weight will cause the plastic support piece to deform or break. Also I have nice wooden hangers, and they looked like they would work fine but once I had everything mounted, I notice that the hangers don't clear the bottom of the rod support "J" bend, and they also catch on the plastic support piece. Essentially I will not be able to slide my clothes effortlessly down the rod like I had hoped. I have another closet that uses a rubbermaid closet kit with better designed rod supports and sliding across supports works pretty easily. I think they should have used metal for the rod support holder, and not rubbery plastic. It would likely be thinner and stronger, less likely to break and allow clothes to slide more effortlessly across. Installation was somewhat difficult, I had to use a right hand angle driver attachment for my drill. Only big plus is the metal part of the bracket seems very sturdy, but that isn't the reason someone is going to buy this bracket vs another one, they want the rod support feature which is a weak point.

clamp too small. bar popped off and scraped up our walls
this is a great idea but the plastic clamps to mount the hanger bar are too small. when it clamped to the bar, it was good for about an hour and then all of a sudden we heard a loud noise and realized that the bar had popped/shot right off the clamps and the edges of the bar scraped up both sides of our closet wall pretty good. the clamps need to go farther around the bar.

                  Does what it needs to
Very good construction for heavy duty use. Only reason it gets 4 stars is that the brackets are not 100% identical. The differences would be insignificant if using only two to hang a rod & shelf, but if you need three or more due to shelf length, or if you need adjoining shelves to meet seamlessly, you're going to do some shimming to make everything line up. Would be nice to have color coordinated screws for mounting. I used a paint pen (also available at HD) but coverage is not quite as good as if it was a factory finish.

                  Horrible. Really poorly made.
I purchased eight brackets and two steel clothing rod. I'm a contractor, so I know how to install a level shelf. One would expect that all the brackets would be identical, right, ha ha! These are clearly hand – welded, inconsistently produced, and the brackets and Rod support do not line up. Seriously, install three brackets in a row and either your shelf will be level, or your clothing rod will be supported by all three brackets: pick only one, they are 'off' by as much as 1/4". I only wish I could post a photo showing the final result. The Home Depot internal buyer who authorized this item should recall it and pull it out of stock immediately. For the average installer it will result in nothing but a horribly frustrating waste of time.
