  • Good quality bracket

I purchased two sets of these brackets as replacements for 45 year old brackets that had broken in two stairwells in my home. These were the heavier duty version of the two available, but were still somewhat less stout than my old ones. Although the holes to the wall lined up perfectly, those to the underside of the handrail did not. Also with the bracket to handrail screws fully tightened, the handrail still moved. It required fabricated spacers for a totally secure fit. Although not as substantial as my old brackets, the new ones seemed sturdy once installed. The finish was a nice step up from my old tarnished, painted over brackets.

After breaking one of my handrail supports, I upgraded to this heavy duty version. Well worth the extra $1. They are much stronger and solidly built.

  • Good, but screws are not solid brass

The brackets are excellent, and claim to be rated at 500 pounds load. Took off a star because the screws are not solid brass but plated steel, so if used outside screws need to purchased separately. I found stainless ovalhead screws of the same sizes at Lowes for $4.95 for 30 of the large screws and same price for 40 of the small screws (used 10 of the brackets).

Pros Well Made Cons screws are brass plated steel

  • The curve in the rail attaching bracket is too small...
  • June 19, 2018

The curve in the rail attaching bracket is too small for the support part of the bracket. I have these brackets on another railing and that is why I purchased these because my wife wanted them to match. Unfortunately attachment was a problem because of the curve (circumference) being too small.

  • Excellent product

The bracket is good looking and is well made. The cheaper ones are made of a much less durable metal and finish which probably won't last as long and retain the good finish. i would recommend this to friends

Pros High Quality

The brackets are good quality but the finish is black and not what I consider to be oil rubbed bronze.
