I live in Moab, UT. I installed this product in the Spring of 2019. In the Fall of 2020 (without a freeze), the product developed a small hairline fracture near the base. I dug it up thinking the connection might be leaking only to find that the product itself is faulty. It was an inexpensive model so I guess I got what I paid for. I recommend purchasing something that may cost a bit more. It sucks digging up the gravel and digging down 3' in a bunch of water and creating a space big enough to turn a couple of big wrenches. POOR QUALITY!

After only a few times being used I have the same issue as many others; CLEVIS ROD bent, thus it will no longer shut off. No replacement parts. Home Depot....GET RID OF THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

Sorry for your experience. It would appear the unit was over-adjusted forcing the brass rod to close to the handle head. When this happens a unit can get bent when shutting off. Please feel free call the Everbilt team to discuss adjustment procedures at 844-251-7446.

NOT FOR USE FOR DRINKING WATER (POTABLE WATER)!
After 20 years of only having outside water spigots on my 1940's built home that required draining each year before the onslaught of arctic cold-like winters, I came into possession of this frost-proof yard hydrant. The item was described by the company as "Yard hydrant complies with federal lead laws." So I dug my way through rocky soil to connect to the home's existing waterline and was ready to begin installation when I noticed the "fine print" disclaimer at the bottom of the items packaging: "THIS PRODUCT IS A UTILITY HYDRANT FOR NON-POTABLE WATER USE". In other words, don't drink the water coming from this hydrant or use the water to water your garden!
I believe the company is deceiving buyers by advertising it as complying with federal lead laws but NOT advertising it as not for potable water use! And this brings to bear the question: how many buyers have purchased this item and installed it for drinking water use?

Worthless Product!!! Save your money!!
I finished installing this and got water turned back on, This cheap, worthless, low-quality, inferior, imported piece of third world garbage (how's that for inappropriate language?) couldn't take the pressure and the brass valve bent and wouldn't close. I almost flooded my back yard because the valve failed and couldn't handle the pressure and I was standing in about 3 inches of water because the valve wouldn't close. Now I am stuck with a 60.00 monstrosity in my yard. Tried straightening the part and snapped off and now I am unable to remove the valve, but doesn't matter since Home Depot doesn't carry replacement parts!!! Now I will have to re-dig the 3 ft. hole pull this thing out and just go with straight 3/4" pipe. Thank you Home Depot for successfully wasting both my time and my money!!!
