Unfortunately, this hinge is poor quality. My older cedar chest needed new hinges and I wanted to add support hinges on both sides of the interior for durability. I tried 2 left side hinges and a right side and all had the same problem; they are extremely stiff and don't extend properly in order to latch open. They are so stiff that they would, without doubt, warp the new hinges I just put on the back and/or tear up the wood on the rear of the chest from the force it would require to open them. The finish is also substandard; handling in order to extend them left permanent fingerprints.

My living room cabinets had two side hinges one on each side that became weak and loose. I used the Everbilt Lid Support Hinges on the left hand side along with a piano hinge. Everbilt is perfect for use as a lid support on cabinets and chests. Pairing with two a left and a right-hand Hinges is recommended. Easy to install. Made of steel, Bright brass finish. Fasteners included, ideal for my repair.

Has a nice bright brass finish. It is a little hard to fold back and forth at first but locks securely into place once positioned. Comes with hardware and drill size pilot hole instructions.

Perfect for my project

I have used many of these on my trunks and they always work as expected.

Looked up a video on how to install but couldn’t really find anything that would help as much as I needed. If extended too far, it would make an awful squeaking noise straight from taking it out of the plastic. Maybe I’m using it wrong, but it was loud and difficult to install. At least I got it to do its job eventually though.

the website said it was for drop down secretary desk. Only if the desk it vertical, 90 degrees. It does not work for the common secretary desk and it wastes your time not explaining how it is to be installed, with no instructions. They are wasting your time, with overly broad links to these.

Exactly what I expected.

Exactly what I needed to keep a lid open on a storage chest. Just remember, if you need one on each side, these come in left and right. I ordered two lefts. Oops. Luckily one did the job or me.

Great quality

I purchased a left and right hinge and both were extremely stiff and very difficult to fold and unfold. You might be able to make this work for table legs but I would NOT reccomend this product for chests, cabinets or other hinged projects in which the hinges will be used frequently unless you want to damage whatever you attach them to.

The support requires a certain depth to function. The bottom attachment must be at least 5 inches above the base. This wasn’t specified on the package. In the trash now.

The installation process was pretty straightforward. The only thing missing was information on how far from the side edge of the lid the pivoting bracket needs to be so it closes right and straight (further than I first expected).

A cheap China made, no warranty, low quality lid support. This is not made of brass metal as the title would have you at first think. It is made of steel with a very thin surface coating of a brass-like color agent. The joints are riveted and stiff to operate. I suppose that these supports would be OK to use for cheap projects where project overall quality is not a priority...

Does exactly what I needed it to do. I built a box that sometimes needed to have the lid prop open, but usually be closed. I also wanted it to prop if I opened it all the way and to do it by itself so that operation could be one-handed. This allowed that to happen. This project was a brooder box for baby chickens. I wanted to be able to do the aforementioned task, and have a hand free to keep the baby chickens in as to not allow them to escape. It worked great. The lid is pretty light, so I only did the left hand side, however, if you have a heavier application, a right hand hinge can be used in conjunction.

This item was assembled incorrectly @the factory.It was riveted together inside out.I had to extend and hammer the item inside out to place it in its correct position before installation. This I found because it would not fully extend when removed from package and also by comparing to its LH pair lid support.Screws provided are too long for 3/4" thick material but are OK for 1" or thicker material.
