This item was perfect for a location where I could not use normal unsplit flange. I added aluminum tape to cover holes for my hard tile application.

I replaced an old escutcheon on a 1/2" copper pipe, and it worked out great. There are no directions but installation is simple. Remove the old escutcheon. I used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel. On the escutcheon, one side can open up. You pivot the two halves apart. Place the escutcheon over the toilet pipe. Then, close the two pieces together. Finally, slide the escutcheon back so it is touching the wall.
The material is thin so you need to be a bit careful while handling it.
The chrome finish is really nice. After installation, it looks great.
This part exceeds my expectations.

The product page says this escutcheon plate has a chrome plated finish over plastic, but the one I received is stamped from thin metal and has a shiny chrome finish. It's precisely formed with crisp edges and the hinge is well aligned. This is sold as a floor/ceiling cover but I used them on my vanity faucet supply pipes after replacing the vanity. I like to use removable covers on my faucet and toilet supply lines since they tend to become unsightly over time and the hinged covers can be easily removed and replaced.
The hole diameter is 5/8" for a precise fit over the 5/8" outside diameter of 1/2" copper pipe. It's made in China.

This is a great product to cover the unsightly holes around pipes. The great thing about this is that it can be installed after any fittings are installed or as a retro-fit in an existing installation. The hinge is tight fitting without any side play. While there is a provision for a mounting screw the two halves snap together with a solid and secure feel.

Split Floor and Ceiling Plate Flange. Designed to go around 1/2" copper tubing. The actual clearance hole measures 5/8". About 1/4" thick. I used this to replace an existing corroded flange in my bathroom. My original flanges are not split thus I had to cut it off the existing piping. Having the split allow me to install this flange in seconds. Without disconnecting any piping. "Grey" is mentioned in the description but I'm not sure why. The flange has a chrome finish. The description also says "plastic construction" but the flange is magnetic so I assume that it is make of some type of metal.

Escutcheons wear out; they corrode after many years. This product is a nice replacement. It looks great, it is easy to open, put around a water line, and snap shut. It has two screw holes in it if it has to be anchored to a wall. There are no screws included. I just put mine on and left it sitting on the floor-no need for screws. Installation took 15 seconds. From the description, it says this is a plastic, chrome-plated piece. The product looks nice, is easy to install, and it will give you years of use. It is modestly priced. What's not to like? I recommend this product.
