I use this product every year to keep rabbits out of my kitchen garden beds. It is an attractive, rustic style that fits my garden. It is inconvenient that it isn't stocked in metro stores and we have to drive out to the suburbs to get it.

Fantastic. It protects my tiny sapling while blending in with the natural surroundings. I love the way it stretches. There is a spike at each end to hold it up, but I put them together to create a circular barrier. I made a shallow, circular trench, placed the Willow circle inside and then filled in the trench burying its bottom couple of inches. It looks great. I set it up about three weeks ago and, it still looks great despite some strong winds and rain.

This expandable and flexible fence is a great deterrent to keep rabbits away from those very pretty but apparently delicious blossoms of Gberra Daiseys, wild Yellow Daiseys and others. If placed right, it does an excellent job. It however is not indistructable to be expected of something so flexible. The fence conforms to a teardrop type circle around flowers. We have 3 other fences in use in the side and rear yard once we notice the rabbits dining on our flowers. Shut them off from dining on the 3 in the front and then the switched to 3 others. Hopefully it ends here.

I was looking forward to adding this willow border in the herb garden. Once I opened the package and saw the quality of the product, I was quite disappointed. Where the willow twigs were cut, many of the cut ends of the willow were frayed and splintered and some ends had bark and wood stripped. I was able to clean up some of the frayed ends but the stripped bark will always be an eyesore as they cannot be repaired. On a positive note, the border expands easily and if you overlook the massacre of a lot of the end cuts, looks really nice in the herb garden. See photos.

I am recommending this product with reservation. I like the idea of supporting some of the leaning plants in my beds with something made of sustainable, natural materials such as this small willow edging. It is non intrusive to the eye and will support lighter weight foliage like Bleeding Hearts and such, keeping things neat. Unfortunately, I am concerned about the long term lifespan of the product. The willow is very thin, and once it is positioned, is best left undisturbed so as not to break it. I inadvertently broke one of the longer end stakes when I pushed it into harder soil, so I recommend that you use a screwdriver or such to plumb a hole first, rather than pushing the end pieces in by hand. I am disappointed that I did not do so and mine is not totally functional at this point. This border is 21.5" tall when it is not totally stretched out to its 72" max length. Plan on using it for one spring and summer season.

The branches used to make this border are either still green, or soaked in something to make them more pliable. They are not the brittle at all. The individual pieces are held together with tiny steel pins. The outer two pieces at the end are extra long so that you can stick them in the ground.
It feels a bit wobbly, but it is strong enough that it stays together. Once in the ground, it is fairly solid but you may need supports in the middle. I put mine around the base of my small lemon tree where I'm trying to sprout some other plants, and it works great at keeping the hungry bunnies out. It did need a bit of extra support to make the circle, but it was pretty easy.
My only concern is that it has a strong chemical smell, and it does not smell like green willow, so it makes me wonder if it is treated with something. It is made in China.

This willow border was not what I was expecting. I thought it would be much taller. I was going to use it to keep my squash plants corralled, but when I saw it, I used it around my lettuce.
It is made of natural willow sticks that give a more organic look to the garden than the plastic fencing used all around to keep the animals out. It is expandable to seventy two inches in length.

The Expandable Willow Border didn't quite work for my raised bed garden as I had hoped. I had green beans cascading over the side and it wasn't tall enough or sturdy enough to hold these up. I'm sure there may be other applications where this type of border would work ok. Being made from willow branches is unique and very organic compared to wire borders or trellis, so that is a plus. So, my conclusion is you would want to evaluate whether the planned use for these fits.

Cute and decorative, but flimsy
The Expandable Willow Border is a cute and decorative piece, but very flimsy. It also looks a lot taller in the online pictures than what it really is - so make sure you read the description and size specifications. Being that it only has 2 ground inserts and the whole thing feels like it is made of sticks, I highly doubt it will truly stand during a storm or even help flowers grow and stand tall.
