DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE!!! As other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic is incredibly cheap. My fridge is 2 years old and it has broken multiple times. The company doesn't even offer to replace the parts. Lousy customer service, poorly built product. It keeps my food cold and I don't even mind that much that the ice maker jams 9 times out of 10 when I try and get ice in my cup. This is utterly the WORST refrigerator I have ever owned, and I have owned old, used fridges for the last quarter of a century! This is the first fridge I have ever purchased brand new. They don't make them like they used to.

We love the amenities and the interior design. Extra drawers in the freezer and frig compartments are a plus. Love the adjustable glass shelfs. We have only had a few weeks and so far cooling and performance is fine. We hate the cheap parts both visible and not visible..too much chinese plastic and made in mexico. One door shelf broke while we were setting it up and had to order another one. We hate the noise...makes all kinds of weird and loud noises..our old whirlpool was quiet as a mouse compare to this frig. After getting water, you hear a loud bang as the parts close. It has constantly intermittent hum/buzz. Repairman said this is "normal". Water going into the ice maker is very loud. This refrig will constantly let you know it is in your house.

I have had the refrigerator for one month. The look of it is very nice. One of the main reasons I purchased it was because it is the only truly fingerprintless stainless products of any make that I could find. The ice and water dispenser work great, it cools well (too well set at the recommended 37 degrees, I had to turn it up to 42 as it froze items on the top shelf and in the produce drawers). The inside looks great and is well lit. However, this fridge is EXTREMELY noisy, to the point of distraction at times. I usually do not write reviews, but wanted others to know this before you spend your money. I read another review from someone else who described such problems and thought it just came from someone who complains about everything. Not so. This refrigerator moans and clicks and wheezes for most of the day, every day. I work at home, so I hear it all day. The first day it was set up, I kept hearing what sounded like an intermittent fog horn in the distance and realized after a few minutes it was the fridge. A few days later it began moaning like a ghost. Shortly after that an infrequent but loud clicking sound occurred, which returns frequently as well. At this very moment, the fridge is moaning and squealing. I tried turning off the ice maker to see if that was the problem, but no luck. I called Electrolux/Frigidaire customer service and was told they would not come out "just for noise", but would check on the food freezing. The repair man came and said there was nothing to be done, some of these new energy efficient models are just very noisy. I guess I am expected to just live with a very talkative fridge. That was not the answer I was looking for. So, I spent almost $1,300 for a fridge that can be heard making all kinds of noise, even while watching a loud movie 10 feet away. NOT cool, Frigidaire! And, just so you know, the baskets in the freezer are set on rails that are so flimsy, you cannot put food in them that has any kind of weight. The rails start to bend and the the baskets will not stay on the rails when you try to pull them out. From the looks of it, those rails would pull away from the sides of the fridge eventually, if they are overfilled. To sum it up, I miss my 28 year old Whirlpool side by side...

  • Do not buy!
  • October 02, 2018

I have loved the Frigidaire Gallery line that I own. However, I regret buying this refrigerator. The ice maker quits making ice occasionally for unknown reason. Without doing anything to correct the problem, it will make ice again. Never sure when you will have ice available. When you do have ice, the ice chute jams and you have to manually clear it. Very frustrating! The lower plastic door trays are cheap plastic and broke within a week. I DO NOT recommend this item!

Just beyond one year from purchase date, things started going wrong. Software malfunction caused temperature settings to warm up the refrigerator. We were fortunately able to reset the system. Icemaker malfunction, some leakage occurred, resolved on its own. Had some issues with cracked plastic inside fridge - one shelf and one drawer. What next?

Love it! Very spacious, great features and discreet panel. Ice maker and water dispenser make a bit of noise but nothing to be bothered about. Fingerprint resistant and easy to clean smudges off it. I'm very happy with the Gallery collection.

  • Poor Quality door shelves
  • April 24, 2020

We purchased a new home with this Frigidaire refrigerator installed in it (model FGSS2635TF and serial number 4A91315729). The home had not been lived in snice the purchase of the refrigerator, and we were happy with the look of the unit. Within 3 days of living at the home, not one, but two of the shelves in the door broke off. Frustrating, but luckily still under warranty from the original purchase, we thought. After a call with Frigidaire, we were informed that the shelves are not a part of the warranty and that they can be purchased for a shelf. Now we are left with deciding whether we want to replace the shelves even though the new shelves are also likely to break, or if we want to live with a refrigerator door without shelving and try to cram all of the items we would store in the door into the other shelves. This model has very poor quality shelves. Frigidaire appears to be aware of this and the person on the phone at the warranty department was very clear that this is a piece that they are not allowed to replace. Overall, stay clear of this refrigerator if you value door shelves. Home Depot should consider ensuring better quality of the products it is selling.

Love how quiet the fridge is, love the look at especially NO FINGERPRINTS! I did notice on the door handles a few tiny scratches. They weren't there when it was delivered, must have scratched it myself some how.. Be careful cleaning it cause it seems easy to scuff up on the door handles. Makes ice quicker than any other fridge we have had! Love that! I have only had this fridge a month so I am hoping it lasts at least 10 years with no issues!

I bought this unit last week to replace a Frigidaire Gallery I had for 21 years. My only complaint is the water/ice selector not being illuminated. Depending on background lighting, sometimes you can't tell what you will get when you depress the single paddle. I have attached photos to help me explain the problem, Photo #1 shows the dispenser in "sleep" mode. When you touch the paddle, the only thing that illuminates is the freezer and refrigerator temp settings. Which of course doesn't tell you what you'll be getting from the dispenser. The small pilot lights above the selections work fine, it's just you don't know what you are selecting. Photo #2 shows the option setting, and in this case you can make out the water/ice selections. Still no water / ice selector illumination. Photo #3 Shows what I had to do with a label maker to deal with this. I realize that maybe in time I would know based on the location of the pilot light that is illuminated which is currently selected, but that is not going to help our frequent visitors, and visits from the grand kids. Is there help for this??
