Used with Moisture Shield Meridian decking and the installation went great. Clips and screws appear to be well made and only time will tell how they hold up. Would use and buy again.

Secure fastener clean installation
The FastenMaster Universal Hidden Deck Fastening System creates a fastener free deck surface in grooved composite boards. The universal hidden clip design works in most leading composite deck board brands. It features stainless steel components for long term durability. I am using these on the deck I am currently building and these are pretty easy to use. Using these will give your deck a smooth finished appearance. No worries about screws or nails working their way back out causing trip hazzards or an unfinished look. I would definitely recommend these if installing a product like Trex for a complete long lasting deck.

Great fastening system
Fantastic fastening system to hide any screws on your deck. This 200ft.² box should give you enough for a small project. Box includes the fasteners plus the screws you need with the drill bit. I plan to use them for my outside deck. The process takes a little bit to get used to but once you get going it was pretty quickly. I’m satisfied with the product.

Fantastic fastening system to hide any screws on your deck. This 50 ft.² box should give you enough for a small project. Box includes the fasteners plus the screws you need with the drill bit. I used these for my kids outdoor playhouse. Overall the process to Heidi’s took a minute or two to get used to but once you get going to go pretty quickly. Good product

No more screws popping up!
If you're spending the money to create a beautiful deck with Veranda or Trex boards, then you'll want to get these hidden deck fasteners so that you don't see the ugly screw heads which can pop up over time and also show unsightly lines of screws throughout your new deck. I love the fact that all you can see on my deck are the beautiful clean lines of my composite boards! My 200sq ft deck took 4 boxes (of 50ea) when spacing each fastener 16 inches apart. You simply insert fasteners and then insert screw to base boards of deck, then slide in the next board. Screws, fasteners, and screwdriver bit are included in box. Even though it seems way more expensive than regular deck screws, the look of your deck will be well worth it!

Clean
Definitely gives it a clean look. We did a 160 sq ft deck and it was definitely secure and easy to use. Some boxes are made for 50 sq ft, and others are made for 200 sq ft. I like that it works with many of the popular brands such as Trex, Veranda, and Fiberon. Includes clips, screws, T15 bit. My favorite part is that theyre stainless steel which is probably the longest lasting material for construction you can ask for.

Excellent Product
I chose the FastenMaster 50 sq. ft. Universal Hidden Deck Fastening System, Black to use to replace some of the boards on my back deck. I loved how easy these are to install and the instructions were very easy to follow. The finished product was amazing and you could hardly see where the clips were attached. This was a much better look than nail heads sticking up on the boards.

CLEAN NO SCREW HOLE LOOK !
This system works well. It only took a few minutes to get the hang of how to use these clips. They secure the boards to the under framing well although the brand of decking I used didn't have the slot on the decking board edge so I had to get out my router with a slot cutting bit.Everything in the field went well but when it comes to the stairs you have to use a showing screw to fasten the outside edge of the tread board since the clips wont work on that open edge. The only problem I see which this system is if you have to repair a board for whatever reason you'd have to remove all the boards starting from an edge to get to a board that's in the field, unless you want cut the clips with a multi tool. The other kit by Fasten Master has plugs to cover the screw holes so that might be a better option if one is worried about ever having to replace or repair boards in the field easier .Other wise a solid system and should last longer than the boards since these metal clips are stainless steel.

works well
These work well for the Trek and similar types of composite boards. The great feature of this type of installation hardware is that you don't have to Predrill clearance holes in the flooring and countersink the screws, so his makes the installation much quicker and leaves a clean and smooth floor surface. The kit also includes he correct bit to be used in a drill for driving the screws.

Great kit for composite decks
The FastenMaster Universal Hidden Deck Fastening System creates a fastener free deck surface in grooved deck boards. The Universal clip design works in most leading deck board brands such as Veranda, Fiberon, and Trex. It features stainless steel components for long term performance. The clips are black in color. There are 90 regular clips and 10 start/stop clips, 92 screws and 1 T15 bit for the screws. This kit covers approximately 50 square feet. I found have a big job i would suggest a few boxes or getting the bigger box. You don't want to skimp on these because these are whats keeping your boards from moving around. I would suggest these as apposed to just screwing your boards down.

works well
These are a great improvement over the old method of drilling clearance holes through the Trek style boards and installing screws. The greatest advantage of using this fastening system is that you have a clean, smooth deck without having screw heads protruding above the surface that can cut your bare feet. Another advantage with this type of mounting system is that the board spacing is uniform.

Works well w/TrexDecking
This FastenMaster fastener system is really slick ...works well with Trex Decking ...BUT DO try it with any other brand decking to assure nice fit. I.e., some manufacturers' boards have deeper/more shallow groves and this will affect board spacing. Trex boards work well with about 1/4 spacing between boards. Very nice, clean look when installed ...you can look directly down and see the fasteners, but they're practically invisible otherwise. I appreciate the stainless steeI material ...meaning no rust? I only gave this a 4 star because they may not work with all boards. My application is perfect and should be a 5 star ...yet I don't want to mislead.

A stainless steel fastening system for major brand grooved composite decking boards
Unlike not too many years ago when pressure treated (PT) deck boards where the standard decking material and were installed either by face nailing with pneumatic guns or face screwing with deck screws, virtually all the decks we build are framed with PT 2x lumber and decked with a composite decking material, generally 5/4” x 6”. For the very first clad decking we used a face screwed system which countersunk the stainless steel screws and then we hammered the supplied matching plugs into these cylindrical holes to hide the screw heads. Many builders of decks still use and prefer this fastening method even today. The newest method, however, of fastening grooves deck boards employs an almost invisible system of plastic clips, biscuits or stainless steel clips. This FastenMaster Hidden Deck Fastening System uses black painted stainless steel clips and matching T15 stainless steel screws. I have used them all and I like this system the best for it speed, durability, and reliability. Just follow the straightforward manufacturer’s instructions for great looking and long lasting results. Just a couple of hints to make the job look the best: 1. It is critical to get the first board down perfectly straight so use a simple chalk line, string or laser line. 2. Use the starter clips for the first and last board OR face screw and plug these 2 boards as an alternative installation method. 3. Use black paint, either in a spray can or apply with a small brush, to paint the top of the PT joist before attaching the clip. This way both the joist and clip blend together and virtually disappear. If you skip this step you will clearly see the top edge of the joist the black clip attached to it. The last tip is to keep a small supply of the face screws and matching plugs on hand for potential future repairs. Unfortunately, damaged deck boards will need to be cut out in order to replace them. A new deck board can be installed using the face screwing method and anyone would be hard pressed to find these plugs once the repair is done. This FastenMaster system gets 5 Stars and my full endorsement. One last thing: purchase several T15 bits before you begin. One bit is unlikely to last for the whole project.

The best
After removing the old rotting boards that I am assuming they were nailed in when the house was first built. No hidden treasure found underneath, darn it. I installed new ones several months back and using this fastener 200 sq. ft. Universal Hidden Deck Fastening System was almost perfect being the only issue that I experienced was the star end that fits into the screws. After around a dozen successful uses, it became useless as it began to lose its hold on the screw heads. Suggestion is that if you have a lot of boards to fit, go buy a couple of spare ones. Other than that issue, everything was accomplished perfectly. Excellent stainless steel hidden clips which I used two to each six-foot board that was required, Life-time-of-the-project warranty protecting against corrosion and loose boards.

Great kit and perfect for hiding fasteners on deckboards. Easy to follow instructions and easy to install. Kit includes driver bit, screws and plugs. No need to countersink screws or set nails again. No caulk or wood filler needed. Recommended 2 screws every 16 inches and 3 screws if boards are wider than 8 inches. Warranty voided if recommendations not followed.

Best way hands down to fasten grooved composite deck boards down. This is my first time using composite and fastenmaster. The fasteners are completely hidden for very clean no fasteners sticking up to snag on etc. fasteners don’t pop up at all. Installing fasteners is very quick and easy and actually ties your deck together and makes it stronger and very solid underfoot. Appearance is excellent when done no screws or nails etc.

Do not buy.
I have timbertech decking. Screwing the clip in at an angle is not the way to go. Does not keep the deck boards straight. Also. Adds alot of extra work for large decks. Have to add blocking under every seam of deck boards. I recommend a fastener that gets screwed down between 2 boards. That way its not pulling the boards when screwing at an angle. I got 5 rows down and ended up taking it all up. Going to get different fasteners.

Unfortunately, this clip system is not compatible with TimberTech decking. Approved deck brands are listed on the packaging such as Trex, Fiberon and Veranda. The angled method of screw installation on this type of system has the benefit of pulling boards together. However, if overdriven, the pre-set board gapping feature on the clip can be overridden. We suggest setting the clutch of the drill to avoid this issue. As for the additional blocking under abutting seams, this is required by TimberTech for all clip systems to insure the best connection performance. fastenmaster
These worked great for Trex decking. The angled screw pulled the board in tightly to the previous one. Avoid the Trex brand plastic fasteners and use these stronger metal ones.

Fastening system for the TimberTec decking we installed worked well for the most part. The system could be improved by creating fasteners that are designed for joists where you have two decking boards meet. The standard cleat doesn't have a lot of width so the lip barely covered the area where the boards met. Having a fastener designed for these joining areas, with a wider lip would make the installation easier and would hold the boards down better.

I was told these were exactly the same as Trex. Was not. I find a straight approach to screwing them in easier and the trex design easier for me to hold and not drop constantly.

Thank you for your review. You are correct. The Universal Hidden Deck Fastening System is not recommended for Timbertech/Azek boards. We recommend using either ConceaLoc or FusionLoc instead for their boards. Please feel free to contact Fasten Master @ 800-518-3569 if you have any questions. fastenmaster

I thought this was a great system...even though it takes some fenagling to get the boards positioned if they have a curve to them. It's great how it snugs the board to the brackets in the previous row..
