We bought this unit from HD on line for a 200 sf home office -- plus a year's worth of replacement filters to make sure we'd have them when needed. It arrived a week ago and we set it on "auto." It runs and runs and runs, but the smoke odor remains strong in the closed room, even if no one smokes in the room for 24 hours (in the past the odor dissipated in 60 to 90 minutes in the room, when ventilated, as long as there was no smoking in the meantime). In addition, the unit's fan goes through its three speed cycles (while the blue, yellow and red indicators are supposed to indicate air quality) all day long even if no one uses the room that day and the room remains closed off. It seems random (and defective). It is also quite loud on the two higher settings. I can't recommend this as anything but a noisemaker. Maybe it gets rid of dust, but we bought it for odor control after reading the reviews. I would return the unit and unopened filters to Home Depot, but standing in the return line at the HD store (or at the UPS store if I ship it) and risking exposure to the current contagion isn't something I want to do anytime soon. That's why I ordered on line instead of going to the store in the first place and shopping for units. A $15 old-fashioned blade fan would do what this apparently does -- push air around -- only do it a lot quieter. A waste of $200. I'll aim this one at the dumpster as soon as it's possible to replace it.

This does a good job of filtering the air of dust. I have 2 pets and a woodstove, hence the dust. I do move it around in a large area to get the air circulating and to stir up any particles. Within a week of using this my cough was gone and breathing was easier. I like that you can turn it up to move a greater volume of air or have it moniter and adjust the fan speed automatically. I do that when I leave the house to help get the fine dust filtered. I recommend this unit. The only negatives are that the cord is short, so the unit needs to be close to an outlet or used with an extension cord, and that it is a bit loud on the high speed setting. I do like that I can put this at the bottom fo my stairs and help circulate heated and filtered air to the upstairs. That has really helped keep my house evenly heated. .

Wanted to buy one for my parents after day two. Have had this for a few weeks now. Use it (on Auto mode) when I sleep. Huge difference when I wake up more refreshed with more energy and less stuffy than waking up before - easier to get up. I do turn the UV thing off because of the high pitched sound. I throw a single, clean, new black sock over the lit up part when I sleep. If you have a small space and you like to enjoy long, filling, deep breaths, I recommend this. Also, it arrived sooner than anticipated.+ Another little plus is that you can tilt the air output vent more straight up or diagonal, depending on your preference.

Wife has severe allergies. The purifier was a great help in improving the air in the bedroom making it easier for her to sleep at night during the Bradford Pear Tree bloom. I picked the Fellowes model based on previous experience with the company honoring their warranty on my shredder.

Using everyday and it's helping.

I picked up another for my parents 2-month visit this summer. I now own 4 of these purifiers! My parents are really enjoy having one in their room; the air and room always smells clean, and when the it is on level #3, they can sleep without any noise disturbing them.

Except for the delay in the delivery due to some communication issues between Fellowes and Home Depot, I'm very happy with the unit. It is quiet and the air does seem to be fresher in the room where it is running.

Not a good item for a living room. It worked at top speed constantly (and loudly) and there are too many filters to constantly change and replace. Go with a more expensive version. If this were eligible for returns, I would have returned it but I used it. Not a great item for a living space.

We are very pleased with this purchase. It has helped our air quality in our home plus also helps with keeping the smoke down with our fireplace.

I had high hopes for this rather expensive air purifier. After running it nonstop for two weeks, I can see no difference in my indoor allergies whatsoever.

Cheap, loud, ineffective air purifier.

You really can set it and forget it. The air purifier is quiet and adjusts fan speed throughout the day as needed. Will probably by a second unit for another room. This one works great with our open floor plan.

The Aeromax air purifier is excellent. I purchased it for my bedroom. I'm one of those that has to sleep with a fan year round. Since using the Aeromax I no longer need my fan!!
