This shovel is solid. Yes its heavy but does the work.

Worked great, solid construction and dig really well when pulled down with my foot. Only down side is the weight. A bit heavy if being used to dig a big hole.

I bought this a couple years back from a Home Depot near me. I've never really put it through anything rigorous. Until yesterday and this happened [see image]. It split right up the middle!!! The only reason this happens is due to poor steel quality. Do not purchase this shovel. And the handle bent on a totally different and unrelated job a while back. I mean, it looks 'solid as a rock' and built super tough and that is why I purchased it. But I have never EVER seen a shovel do this before.

Already Broke it at where the Weld is from Handle to Shovel Point Connection... Got to use it for 3 Days is All.. Warranty However will Cover it !

I have had this shovel for over 10 years and for 5 of those I was using it daily. Ilove the all steel construction and not worrying about wood or fiberglass splinters, it is a bit heavier than other shovels but I think it is worth it for the quality and strength

Got tired of replacing wooden & fiberglass handles! Got this several years ago & just love it! I ordered another one today, as I dig it.

This shovel is probably the last shovel I'll have to buy (this model-mind you) It feels solid and looks like it won't rot any time soon.

This is an awesome work shovel! I work as an irrigation contractor and I use this shovel daily to dig with. While I have used it for light prying and cutting smaller roots, NO shovel is a pry bar! I still break fiberglass handled trench shovels using them the exact same way that I use this shovel. The ONLY problem that I can foresee with a steel handle shovel is if I were to cut a "live" wire. I have solved this issue with two layers of heat shrink tubing.

Seems like a good sturdy shovel. I kept breaking wooden handled shovels digging White oak to transplant, trying to get all of the tap root. This one doesn’t break.

I break a regular shovel handle annually and on occasion, a shovel blade every couple years clearing brush. I've had this Fiskars shovel for 4 years now and I love it. It cuts right through small roots and takes a beating when I jump on it to get penetration. The shovel is heavier than most but I find that to be an advantage when driving it into a pile of dirt or gravel - more inertia. The handle is great, I can lever small bushes right out of the ground. I have sharpened the blade tip with a file because any steel will dull driving into dirt with rocks and gravel. Ten stars from me. * * * * * * * * * *

I farm and do construction and have used and worn out many shovels. This shovel, by far, is the best I’ve ever used. It has some heft to it, but makes it easier to sink it in the dirt and prying out rocks. Excellent tool.

Great heavy duty shovel. Should stand up to just about anything you through at it. You AIN'T breaking this one!

It's heavy duty. It has helped us to pull tons of bricks that were larger than 12 inches from our yard's soil. Just in time for fall lawn care.

There is lemons when it comes to anything man made. I've used these for years now only ever had a few bad ones at my work if you get one that's made RIGHT and made to spec then you'll have the best spade for under $40 that anyone could ask for. This spade if you have the dog in you will dig through HARDPAN very well just did it this week so I know I have one that's made right.

I wanted a long handled shovel this was very good but just too heavy for me to use on a regular basis. Unfortunately I had to return it.

I am rough on shovels, and I frequently break the handles or wear out the end of the blade. I really believe this one is going to last as long as I do. I like the long handle as well.
