This tool is fantastic. Great for compact tool to carry on belt. Not as cumbersome as a machete. Particularly effective for trail clearing on a motorcycle, ATV, hiking or on a mountainbike. Though not a replacement, more discrete and compact than machete. Has saw blade also. I've used a Norwegian camp pal before and this is closest to it and a good value.

This worked perfectly to edge my house. I didn't want to buy an electric edger but edging has never been done on my house. This worked so well and let me feel small victories clearing away the extra grass.

This is the greatest tool I have ever had for my gardening needs. It is great for cutting back my perennials, light brush, small roots, succulents, matted ground cover and ornamental grasses. I use it for cutting root clumps, digging out weeds and edging around my borders. I also like that I can use one hand versus two. I also like the curved handle.

It's unusual shape is what does all the work because it can get into unusual places, tight spots, difficult areas, dig down deep into small spaces and even destroy weeds in open spaces. The handle fits nicely into the palm of your hand (big or small), The tool also fits into a plastic shoe box, so you can leave it outside, and it won't get wet or weathered. On top of all that, it comes with it's own canvas case, that protects the tool and you.

I have only had this tool for a short amount of time and I have already used it more than many of my other tools! This is a well-made, quality tool that has multiple uses. The curved blade works perfectly to hedge flower beds and cut branches of plants. The saw works well to cut larger branches and sticks. The design of this product is comfortable, fitting well into the hand and making the cuts and movements easy and comfortable. I feel it is safer than a typical machete and have gotten great use out of this.

Sturdy product that made my landcaping redo so much easier. I have alot of tree roots to get thru in order to plant new material and this tool made it easy.

I saw this and was very excited to get one and see if I could break it. I do a lot of hunting and I always need to clear brush and trees for various reasons. This thing cut everything I wanted it to. I had to sharpen it when it came out of the box, but other than that, it worked like a champ. I was happy to see fiskar make a product that could hold up to some tough work.

I was not sure how much I would use this tool, but it found a place in hand during my spring cleanup of my bush and planting beds. I moved into a older home last year and the landscape had been neglected for a few years. I found that hook on this tool gave me a lot more courage to take on some of the brush that had overgrown around the house. I pulled, sawed, and pried for hours on end with this tool instead of running back to the garage for other pruners or shovels and in the end got more accomplished. I will say that you will get more use on green growths rather than older plants that have developed more bark, but the saw still got through the tough areas.

First off, I love Fiskars products and find them generally to be of excellent quality. This tool meets that criteria with ONE exception. The bill hook side of the one I purchased was NOT sharpened. If it was sharp this would be 5 stars. I am unsure if this was a quality control issue or if it was the way it was supposed to be. I did not return it since I have an electric belt sharpened and was able to put a fine edge on it in about 10 minutes. It is now a very versatile small tool that functions almost like a machete but still is compact enough to carry in the belt sheath without it getting in the way. I find the serrated back edge very useful for clearing out my beds of dried ornamental grass in preparation for spring while the (now sharp) bill hook will clear weeds and cut small branches, up to 3/4 inch.

This is another quality FISKARS product..... There are a lot of times you can use a tool like this, Great for when our taking down trees and you have to delimb them, Also great for stump removal when your digging out the stump and you have a lot of small roots to cut through. I zip tied the sheath that came with it to my lawnmower, That way if I have a quick trim of the ornamental grass or hedges around the yard a few quick swipes and everything is neat,,, Cuts anything from light brush to 1 inch branches From Fiskars a company that makes a solid product t last a lifetme

This compact billhook is a very versatile tool for working in the yard. It is about 13" long with a 6" hooked blade so it is perfect for getting into tight places. I used it for cutting unwanted shoots and suckered from my trees and the extremely sharpe blade made the job easy! There is also a rough saw edge on the top that I used to cut or trim smaller shoots and fibrous bushes. This billhook is comfortable to hold and use because of the way the handle is shaped to fit the hand. The guard for keeping your hands away from the blade and the sheath for storing are two nice safety features. There is also a hole at the end of handle to hang the tool up when not in use. It made by Fiskars so the high quality is not surprising!

I felt I had a weapon in my hand while using this. It worked well for clearing small ground shoots to clear my paths. It also worked well for small hanging branches. The swing motion seemed to be the best way. Just be careful as it is really sharp. I was not as happy with the saw back. It did not do such a great job on the branches. The sheath seems sturdy enough and does provide good protection. I can see how this will be useful in the garden next spring. The packaging say it will divide plants and will give it a try when I can.

Billhook is 12-1/2" long, metal portion being 6" X 4" at extremes. Metal portion is serrated on one side and sharped blade on the other. The blade works phenomenally but the serrated side is not so effective. The metal looks to be made of a quality and tough material; almost like tungsten carbide. The handle appears to be quite robust and very comfortable to grip. A great addition to the garden/yard tool collection.

This was a great find. She of our plants had been multiplying for several years and a friend recommended we get a billhook to separate and try the roots. This handy little too is perfect. It is not too large or heavy, has a great balanced feel, is sharp and cuts cleanly and easily, It made real short work of our project for separating and trimming some of our plants. I also used it to clean up a few spots around the sidewalk area where since our edger is on the fritz, and it helped me dress it up quickly and cleanly.

Ok I must confess I actually got this for my wife so she could till her garden a little easier. This thing is Hefty! Not Heavy... definitely Sturdy though. One side (backside) is or has a serrated edge... the other side (front) has a working edge... Not so sharp to cut oneself so to say but plenty sharp to do the cutting in the garden. I believe my wife wants it sharpened however I have her using it a few days to decide whether that is truly needed. I did use it to scrap trim around the step stones my wife wanted moved... It helped me get them unstuck from the frozen ground... Nice tool & Comes with a sheath to store it in.
