This pump is extremely useful! We have basements (2) that tend to flood in heavy rain, but the regular sump pumps can never get the last 3-4 inches out. (High water table/shallow sumps) This little pump moves an amazing amount of water through simple 3/4" garden hose and keeps going down to 1/4" just as advertised. Do not let it run dry as it hurts the pump. You also need to remember- NO check valve so you need to keep outlet end of hose out of the flood waters. Lastly, if you let it suck air you must loosen hose at pump with motor running and submerged to "burp it"" so the water will flow full force again after the water comes back up. (no air bleed in output fitting)

Ran to HD this morning to purchase a sump pump to get the 8" of water out of my basement. Picked up 2 of these and they are working like a charm. Basement is about 30' x 30' and in 4 hours the pumps have removed about 6" - not much longer to go! I used regular garden hoses with the pumps and they are working great. The box came with the garden hose adapter.

I use these to drain the sump in my pool (water is perfectly clean). At any rate the third one just died. Typically they last just over the one year warranty period. Cannot recommend. I'll be looking for another supplier and would encourage Home Depot to do the same.

The box was totally crushed inside the pickup locker!

It fits well with the drain opening. Compact yet powerful. Great product.

The Flotec pump did all that I asked of it. It removed all but 1/2 gallon of water from my 12 foot diameter pool.

Worked well as submersible pump for yacht.

Works reliably for flooding lake for skating. Not the fastest though.

Use it to flush my electric tankless water heater; it has the right water power for the job; easy to set up and use.

Pump worked fine for flushing 2 tankless water heaters. Additional note: I also bought a pair of 4 foot washing machine hoses to finish my kit. My advice is buy 6 foot hoses.

There was a small leak from the pump outlet port. It was still able to do the job, but I was disappointed that there was a leak.

Same pump as in the Flush Kit for Tankless Water Heaters #RTG20124 - Emailed Rennai to be sure this was not too much flow, their reply linked to this kit: "If you are looking at a pump similar to the one listed on Home Depot’s site (below), it should be fine. The “up to” 20 gpm is misleading as it depends on the pressure drop in the water heater’s heat exchanger. The pump at the link below will likely be running around 4-5 gpm through one of our condensing models which is fine." Then I addressed the price of the kit by buying the exact same pump from Home Depot. And added 6' rubber washing machine hoses all delivered to home free. Drop shipped really applies here - drop shipped from Pentair - 10 pound plastic pump. Shipped only in its own thin cardboard box - no padding what-so-ever - barely taped shut. No additional box and packaging as any normal company would provide............. Seriously!?

very happy with this product - just what we needed

It stopped working within 10 minutes and I had to return it. I ended up purchasing a different one from a different vendor.

This pump is used to drain our pool cover, after a rain....performs very well, and in reasonably prompt time. Appears to be good quality construction, is very quiet. Happy with it.

Some pumps will run for 3 hrs a day for 3-4months and last up to 18months. Or a defective pump will only last 2 months with same usage.
