I received the order for the composter quickly, however the" door" at the bottom of the unit is not correct by at least 1/2 an inch, therefore is not attached securely. It also took me nearly a week to locate something of a correct design, i.e. mesh and fit, to place inside bottom. This was purchased to replace my 22 year-old metal turn-once-a-day composter that has completely rusted out. this one will suffice for awhile, i reckon. It is usually warm/hot here in Las Vegas, so no doubt the kitchen scraps will decompose well. I don't know whether to advocate this type/model, or not, as the door glitch may be a problem??

It is just like a trash can. Not sue why it is so expensive.

The pegs supplied with the unit to secure the unit to the ground are just aluminum tent stakes. My old composter with similar design has a sort of plastic screw which holds the unit firmly to the ground which I wish this unit had. Otherwise it's nice and big with a locking lid. Works great so far.

Placed on a series of used HVAC filters (with wire innards to keep burrowing rodents OUT) the container is remarkably sturdy and stable. Following the loading directions, there has been no smell and minimal gnats. Looking forward to harvesting some good soil in the future.

Works great and is a good size for our needs. The plastic is heavy enough so it’s pretty stable. We get some strong cross winds at times across our property and the lid stays on so I’m happy with it.

Easy to put into place. Well constructed.

The compost bin is easy to put together, light weight. Looks good. Since it is relatively easy for an animal to dig under the bottom, I put pavers around the bottom. Then the raccoons and other animals found a way to get into it. They were able to get in through the air vents. It would be a great product, but I think there could be a better way to keep out animals.

Nice large bin. Easy to load material. Large opening makes turning compost easier than a square bin. Basically zero assembly.

Exactly what I hoped for. Good size for big composting seems sturdy, easy to use. Highly recommend.

Very strong compost bin but the cover is very thin and flimsy. Over time, I will probably have to make my own cover.

These are my best composters. They turn my refuse into wonderful rich compost about twice as fast as my standard compost bins. The door at the bottom allows easy access to the finished product. I have three of these now and am considering adding a couple more and not even bother with the bin compost method anymore. Remember with any compost method to do a layer of green, then a layer of brown. With this unit you can water the compost occasionally to be sure it’s wet enough to work and because the bottom is open, it can drain efficiently.

No set up. Simple cap. Nice design and price. I've partially filled it and I'm sure it will work. I hope it's durable.

This is simply a large black plastic barrel without a bottom. The way it is put together is flimsy. It would be awkward to get in to stir the compost with a fork. I don't think it is worth the price, I will buy 4 plastic garden trash cans and just drill holes for aeration. It will work better and it will be more convenient to handle. I returned this piece to HD.

I've just started using it and it is doing fine. I had one before that did so well that when I moved here I bought another one.

My second round composter . . . no cold corners! Works way better than any square ones.

I waited 2 years to write this review. And after 2 years we still do not have compost, but just clumps of food and plants. We have a small house in the burbs and we do "pot" gardening, so was hoping this would work. So, not yet, anyway.

Easy to setup & should have had one years sooner!

This is similar to the original Earth Machine composters, but not quite as well-made. It is simple and effective, but the stakes bend quite easily. Also, the lid can be a little tricky to get off. The plastic is not as thick and durable as the original Earth Machine. Not a complete knock-off, this composter I think will do the job for us!

Compost bin is sturdy and easy to access. The container is one piece made with strong plastic, plus a lid and access port on the bottom. Its simple design is exactly what I need.

Simple set up, but the lid doesn’t fit very securely.

Great price. Home Depot was willing to price match Canadians Tires price by 10%. Great product.

Looks good and seems to be doing the job, it has been in place for about a month. I will probably get a second unit.
