Not very attractive but it works. Made of a thin plastic material with glued on magnetic strips (4). Comes with extra magnetic strips. I use it to fend off cold air coming in through my range hood vents.

It seems to do the job..time will tell...we'll have to see what happens when the winter temperatures arrive (below freezing and the gusty winds hammer against the fan housing door. Not the "sturdiest" to say the least, but for price, and the fact that we don't use the fan on a daily basis, it seems to be well worth the small investment. I would recommend that other people that purchase this product be careful when handling (installation & removal). I actually painted it "Black Stainless Steel" to match my new kitchen appliances. Anticipating that over some period of time I feel that it will have to be replaced, I recently ordered another one to have as a spare. If it were of a little heavier construction I would have given it a 5-Star Rating!
NOTE: The Range Hood and Nightlight were also purchased from Home Depot!

Years ago they made these with stronger material, but discontinued them for some reason. I had a hard time finding any of these so I was grateful to have found them online. I thought they had quit making them entirely so was glad to find out that is not the case. They keep the bugs out in the summer & the cold out in the winter. I place tall (decorative) S&P shakers on each side that cover the bottom magnets to keep the wind from blowing the covers off (I have a shelf right below my fan). It doesn't happen often but my fan is highly exposed to the wind. I LOVE them & always buy extra for my neighbors b/c our apartment complex no longer provides them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Product purchased in-store. It is made of a very lightweight plastic. Product seems to prevent drafts once you can get the magnets to stay on the cover and the cover to stay on the exhaust fan. I ended up using Gorilla Tape on all four corners to keep the magnets from falling off (yes, two magnets and the cover fell off when apparently an outside draft pushed the cover off the fan) and applying four small earth / super magnets onto the face (all four corners) of the metal exhaust fan to add extra magnetic strength. Once the aforementioned was done, the product has stayed on and does seem to keep most of the draft out (fyi...the product is a tad too big for my 10 1/2" x 10 1/8" exhaust fan and leaves about a 1/8-1/4" inch overhang on all four sides where the draft blows towards the wall instead of face forward) -- see photos. As far as longevity of the product, I can't speak to that since I've only had it installed for a few weeks and have only experienced the above. I rated this product 2 stars due to the modifications and added expense necessary to make the product work. I would only recommend product if the purchaser is willing and prepared to make some slight modifications to product.
