Horrible stuff... I cut a 150" piece off and it took a half hour to peel the plastic off with two people! It would just tear in little strips and rip. And there was no stickiness at all to it. I'm taking it back to Home Depot and getting my money back.

We are sorry to here of your poor experience. The Tri-Ply APP Granule sheet is a Cap sheet designed to be torch-applied and the film is intended as a burn-off film not to be removed. For a self-adhered option, we recommend our Liberty Self-Adhered Base and Cap sheets. For more information, please call our product and technical team with at 877-GAF-ROOF (877-423-7663), Option 5, and they can go over your specific conditions and provide recommendations for your situation. gaf

Product Review of the torch down roofing
This is the second time I have used this product. The last time was 10 years ago and the patio roof that we installed is still bullet proof. I have two problems with the rolls. First, as it turned out the roof width of the gazebo we were installing the roll roof on was exactly 16 foot 1-1/2 inch wide. Since I read that the rolls come in 32 ft 3 inch lengths, it seemed to be a perfect fit. Only problem is that only one of the three rolls that we bought were 32 foot 3 inch length. The other two were an inch short, thus we had to splice another piece onto the end of the run on two pieces. Not happy about that. The second, was that we wanted to get some ceramic granules to use to cover up the tie in to the flashing...and could find neither it nor touch up paint for the rolls to make the finish product look awesome. All in all, it was a fairly easy job and I did the first two courses before the grand son got there to help. At 70 years old the six trips up the ladder with 55 pound rolls over my shoulder was a bit trying, but I got er done. Good Product, worked fine...I just wish companies would learn to send what they say is the amount they are sending. Had a rain and then I drenched the top with a hose....and no water leak, which is what we wanted!

    torch-on roofing
After years of annual roof tarps, i finally re-roofed my house using this and saved a fortune over hiring a roofer. We got average bids of over $20k to do what it took my son and I a weekend to complete including 3 sky light flashings and 4 roof jacks. I'm a licensed plumbing contractor and use torches daily so I really didn't have much of a learning curve here but I don't recommend this for the average home owner. first heavy rain of the year and were dry and no more tarps.
