    JUNK -- Unit lasted a whole week!
    Hands down the worst AC we've ever purchased. We only run it at night since no one is home during the day, and never overnight.. Purchased exactly 1 week ago, no more than 35 hours of use -- if that. Unit only works if we keep it on low ECO mode. Returning tomorrow and getting LG or Toshiba instead.

      Price was 80.00 cheaper at an other retail store but I wanted it immediately. I did not want to wait for the store to open 4 hours later than Home Depot. That said, I have only been using it for less than a week : it was easy to install as the directions were well written and clear. It is heavy - box weighs 74 lbs. It is very loud . It cools the room turning itself off and on to maintain the set temperature. Expensive, heavy and loud but it does cool a large room.

      Not very effective at cooling a room
      From day 1 this unit never blew ice cold air, but it would at least cool the room a little. Within a few days it was no longer cooling at all. I tried every troubleshooting procedure in the guide, but nothing improved. Returned this and bought the GE 6k BTU model instead and it has been more effective

        Already a overpriced paperweight after using it for one summer. Bought it last july, used it for 3 months and stored it over the winter. Installed it last week and now it does nothing but blow warm air. Absolute garbage!

            Stopped cooling after two summers
            This GE 12,000 BTU unit worked well for two summers. The start of the third it didn't blow cold air, just cool air and it sounds like a jet engine. This is the second A/C unit in a row that failed only after a few seasons. Also, I heard a sound like something fell on the ground near the unit and when I walked up to the GE A/C unit it shot out small ice chunks at my face! Terrible purchase. My GE Dehumidifier died after 2 years, GE washer died after 5 years. See the trend?!

              I literally came back through my orders just to find this and make this review! This AC is not worth the money at all! It barely lasted a year. We had a storm come through and the electricity was knocked out for less than 20 mins. It comes back on and the AC is blinking all lights and beeping. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
