Top-of-the-line GFCI tamper-resistant 20A outlet and box, for outdoor use. It comes with minimal parts. You will need some additional electrical parts and wiring. The ground wires are pre-wired only and there is a ground lug block. it will be easy if you are familiar with electrical wiring as the instructions are minimal. There are a limited number of wiring hole plugs on the back, but 4 of the sides have knockouts. There is no way to back wire the outlet, and there are no pigtails, so you will need to wire the side lugs in the traditional way. In my mind, the outlet seems upside down, but there is no code for the position of the outlet. Also the outlet is black, not beige as pictured. I upgraded an outdoor garden shed outlet. It works great. Be sure to caulk and seal the back of the box, and the top and sides of the box against the wall, once installed to be sure it is water-tight.

I replaced my Bell outlet box (which was beginning to rust badly) with this outlet box (see picture). This is a huge box for a single outlet -- it is a heavy duty box fabricated to withstand virtually any condition, for example, backing into it with your garden tractor (but no, I have not tried that). It is large and green in color, so it does stand out unless it is mounted among your plantings -- I installed it by my rear yard shed, so its aesthetic features did not concern me. In addition to it's heavy duty design, I like the fact that the cover is NOT spring loaded, but will stay in an open (upright) position without slamming on your hands, At the same time, the cover is designed so that it can be moved to a downward, closed position even with cords plugged into it, providing protection from the weather (and curious little hands). The box is easy to mount, as it has several pre-drilled holes available to accommodate most mounting positions, and the cover has a hole that when aligned with the box in a closed position can be padlocked (see pictures). I was pleasantly surprised by the grounding lug built into the box (see picture), providing a secure means to attach your ground wire. Were it not oversized for the job, I would have rated this 5-stars. My guess is that the manufacturer uses the same size box to sell many different outlet/electrical configurations. While a large box might be necessary for a more complex configuration (multiple outlets, switches, combinations), it is overkill for this one containing just a single GFI receptacle. If your mounting space is restricted, I suggest you check the dimensions before you purchase this.

This is a very nice heavy duty metal outlet. The cover can be closed over two plug-ins at one time if needed. I will have one set of outdoor lights continuously plugged in, leaving the other receptacle available for vacuuming my car, leaf blower, etc. Great outdoor outlet which should last for many years. It is a flush mount and ready to install. I like the green color which will blend in with outdoor plants.

This 20 amp outlet with GFI receptacle is perfect for my outdoor fountain.. Installation was easy, just mount to brick with plastic anchors, then connect the wires inside to my wire that I ran through the wall. Works great, looks great.

This is a very impressive outdoor GFI receptacle! It is well made, heavy-duty, attractive and weather-resistant . The box is deep enough so you can have something plugged in and still close the cover. It comes with well written instructions and looks to be very easy to install. This one is going on the back of our well house for easy access in case anything goes wrong with the pump. This product is well worth the money.

This 20 Amp GFCI backyard outlet is very rugged looking and well built. The oversized weatherproof box on this outlet is made of a thick high quality metal with a green powder coated finish for years of use and looks similar to a generator hook up outlet. The 20 Amp rated GFCI receptacle is adequate for use with higher amperage drawing devices such as large power tools, swimming pool pumps, etc. The box of this outlet is large enough to be used as a junction box in addition to being an outside receptacle box. The cover of this backyard outlet has a large opening at bottom to allows even larger gauge cords to stay plugged in while keeping outlet completely weather resistant. I would prefer if it was either black or a dark bronze color and find it a little two big for mounting to a smaller sized house.

Sturdy construction is better than most weather proof covers

The box uses sturdy sheet metal which is surprising solid. However, in pre-assembly, the GCFI is assembled upside down (easy to fix) and one of the terminal screws was missing out of the box, the cover piece was misaligned and needed some body work to correct so it moves freely now. For this price and carrying a GE brand, this is sloppy quality control.
