My family LOVES this dishwasher. We had no idea how loud our old dishwasher (made from another manufacturer) was until we started using this dishwasher from GE. This dishwasher is QUIET! We used to not be able to hear ourselves talk while standing in the kitchen when the old dishwasher was running. But no longer! Half the time we have to check to see if the new GE dishwasher is even running, it is that quiet. Note the Home Depot product page for this product says that you should ensure that you provide an electrical outlet with six feet of the installation location. If you are having Home Depot install this dishwasher, make sure you talk to the HD service person about this because I went to the trouble of pulling out my old dishwasher which had the power hard-wired in order to cut the power cable and run it into the adjacent cabinet in which I installed a new 20amp receptacle for the new dishwasher. When the installation team showed up they told me that they would have hardwired the power and that I didn't need to do all that. They were happy that I had uninstalled the old dishwasher for them though. :) The installation team consisted of 3 guys and they were in and out in 20 minutes. They were great. The dishwasher looks great and operates very efficiently. It has a "dry-boost" feature which really dries the dishes. When we used the old dishwasher after the drying cycle the dishes remained very wet with puddles of water on the tops of glasses, etc. Not so with this GE dishwasher - everything comes out completely dry! On thing I especially like is the vent at the upper left hand corner of the door. This allows the heat/steam to escape from the unit during drying. Our old dishwasher did not have that and the steam essentially built up underneath our kitchen cabinets and started rotting the wood out. This is will no longer be a problem because of GE's excellent design. The top of the door panel has LEDs which keep you informed of how much time is remaining for the washing/drying cycle. The dishwasher can accommodate up to 16 place settings and features a utensil basket that allows you to individually hold up each utensil so that they get washed and dried individually versus being clumped together as with many other dishwashers. If you only have a bunch of cups to wash, you can turn off the lower "zone" meaning only the items on the top rack will get washed. This is a great feature and saves water and electricity. The unit features a pre-wash with steam capability to loosen caked on food before the regular wash cycle. People who hate having to wash their dishes before they put them in the dishwasher to be washed will love this feature. My wife loves the special water jets for bottles. She puts her sports bottle on one of the four jets and it conducts a deep cleaning of the bottle. When we first started using the dishwasher each time we opened the door to put a dirty dish into the washer all the LEDs would come on and a sound would sound indicating the dishwasher was ready to start running. We found this to be annoying as we figured it makes more sense to only have the LEDs come on (with sound or not) when you press an LED, indicating that you want to actually run the unit. The good news is the dishwasher has a "door wake up" mode which turns this off. To do this, press and hold the Start and Wash Temp pads for 5 seconds, close the door and wait 3 minutes for the dishwasher to go into sleep mode. Then, when you open the door the LEDs and sound will no longer come on. If you are washing tall items, you can adjust the upper rack to accommodate them. GE also offers an optional third rack which can be used at the top of this dishwasher to hold a ton of silverware, utensils, and other shallow/small items. Did I mention that this is QUIET? We are very happy with this dishwasher. It is so nice to be able to watch a movie in the family room which is next to the kitchen while the dishwasher is running and not be able to hear the dishwasher. The dishes come out clean, spotless, not water spots, and dry. Well done GE! Oh, one other thing I almost forgot. Somehow GE also made the front door magnetic! Most stainless steel units are not magnetic. So, we were able to hang our clean/dirty sign on the door. Very important. :)

Quiet
I love how quiet it is, I can run it without having to raise my voice while talking to people, do not need to turn up the volume on anything- it’s great. The price was good.

    Poor quality
    After only two years, maybe run once a week, the door on this dishwasher will not latch. Therefore, it will not operate. A complete disappointment in the quality of this product.

      Leaks Water
      This was a builder-installed appliance and is just over 2 years old and the bottom seal was already dryrotted and leaking water onto my kitchen floor. I ordered an installed a replacement seal and it is still leaking onto the floor. The dishwasher works great except for the leak. This issue shouldn't be happening on a dishwasher that is still relatively new. Having someone come look at it is about as much as a new dishwasher. If I end up replacing it, it won't be with the same model or brand

            Awful
            Nothing but trouble. I used to swear by GE appliances but this dishwasher. It stinks even though I clean it once a month. Had to have serviced 3 times already and now it will be 4. Motor was replaced 3 months ago because of wouldn't power up. Now it won't power up.again. I truly this GE dishwasher and I'd give it a zero if I could. A big fat zero

              Extremely disappointed
              As others have reported this appliance worked great until it didn't. I ran it typically 4 times a week, I always rinse dishes before loading and never overload. Several days ago it stopped working, it tripped the kitchen breaker, my husband reset the breaker and the machine worked once after that. Now it doesn't work at all. It should have worked much longer than a three and a half years.

                Cheap materials and will not last
                Just like others, after 3 years the control board on the dishwasher is trash. With the amount of people who have an inoperable unit because of faulty boards, you would think a good company would put out a recall. It's sad that with the knowledge and technology we have today you can't make an appliance to last. I spent thousands on our GE set. Will never go GE again.

                  Not long lasting
                  Not a great dishwasher. Has broken twice in 2 years. First time the entire motherboard went out, second time was the heating element. Overall cheap material that just doesn’t last.

                      Great until it wasn’t.
                      Great dishwasher until it wasn’t. Much like some of the other reviews it just stopped working after only 2 years. I’ve had lots of GE appliances in the past that were great but this will make me hesitant to buy another one.

                        Circuit board gone bad too soon
                        It worked for a couple years, but now I believe the circuit board has apparently gone bad. I had to disconnect power to the unit because it kept tripping the kitchen breaker.

                          Do not buy this product or one like it
                          In addition to a latch failure, inadequate cleaning cycles, and its loud operation, this dishwasher failed after a mere 15 months. The main computer board failed, causing the appliance to fail to drain. Replacing the mother board would make repair completely cost preventative.

                            A good one for the price
                            Washes quite well but the dish rack is poorly designed...probably by someone who never loaded a dishwasher in his or her life;well educated from books but not from actual life.

                              The dishwasher cleans the dishes quite well. The racks are poorly designed and various dishware doesn't fit well. The controls are satisfactory once you learn how to use them as they aren't clearly explained. Overall it does what a diswasher is supposed to do so I have no complaints!

                                Horrible Dishwasher Deign
                                The console has popped off the dishwasher TWICE. I have had to rebuy the part, TWICE. You have to take the door off to replace the part. Tech needed. VERY EXPENSIVE. Horrible design!!!!

                                  Waste of money
                                  This Machine has been nothing but problems. It hasn't even been 2 years and we've had it "up to here" with it. For basics - it doesn't fit many of our every day water bottles (height wise), the moveable wineglass holders, etc don't stay in place, and it is constantly building a nasty film on the plastic sides and spray arms despite our having heavily filtered and sanitized water for our whole house, and regularly cleaning the dishwasher. More annoying than that, it has stopped working multiple times. I can't even remember all of the issues but now it's the pressure valve. Why make something that needs cleaned out so inaccessible? And apparently fragile, because after twice now of needing to clean it, it went back in and threw the PRS error code. Waiting on a new part, and taking note to never buy another GE. (We've had broken part issues within the first year buying a GE for my dad's house, too, and both were professionally installed)

                                      Top control panel is trash
                                      I had to replace the top panel because the plastic clips all broke off over the two years I’ve had the dishwasher. The replacement part doesn’t want to go on and the clips started coming off while we tried to install it.

                                        Cheap model with nothing but problems.
                                        This appliance was installed when we had our house built in 2020. It’s just over 3 years old. We’ve already had a repair guy out once,about 2 years ago,and now it stopped working altogether. We already cleaned the filter and addressed every issue. It doesn’t clean dishes anymore and doesn’t dry properly. We’ll never buy GE appliances again!

                                            Worked great, but only for a short time
                                            This dishwasher worked great! But in less than 3 years it died. Circuit board needs to be replaced already. I have always preferred GE products but this is the second appliance this year that has quit working after a very short life span. Very disappointed in the quality.

                                                  Doesn’t work
                                                  Home build in 2019 with new appliances. I moved in 2022. The dishwasher would run when you start it every other time. I would have to unplug it, let it sit for 15 minutes, plug it back in and hope it would work. After a few months of resetting it between uses, it completely stopped working.

                                                    Terrible product
                                                    Top latch on the door had issues. Two months into owning it the machine stopped working. Service call fixed it for all of a day. I didn't use it often so now one year warranty has expired. I'm trashing it and replacing it with an LG.

                                                      Eight years ago I bought the previous model of this same GE dishwasher. Five years it broke. I foolishly bough another. Three years in it is now broken. This is the last GE product I buy.

                                                        Haven’t even had this dishwasher for 4 years and it broke 3 times. We replaced the UI board 3 times and main circuit board once, only lasted 3 days. We will never buy GE again!
