I want to give this light two ratings. A ONE for installation and a FIVE for light output. You have to completely disassemble the assembly to install, then re-assemble with very tiny screws all while hanging upside down. Also, the knockouts for wiring are not in the center, which makes zero sense. Once it's all installed the light is a nice warm even glow with a nice beam pattern. Hope they dim well.

Love the LED lighting, puts off just enough light, and the bronze blends well under Oak cabinets. Simple installation (if familiar with lighting). Highly recommend

If you're planning to purchase this product please be sure to check the light spectrum shown on the back of the box under "lighting facts" and "Color Accuracy". I looked at the pictures and video in the product description PLUS some of the photos included in the reviews. They were exactly what I was looking for. To replace my under cabinet fluorescent lighting, and keep a light spectrum match, I needed the "white" light. With LED lighting it is referred to as "Daylight". The back of the box displayed a light spectrum on the edge of both "Warm White" and "Bright White" which is more of an incandescent bulb light spectrum BUT I figured the video and pictures would be more accurate. NOT the case. Please see my "real world" photo. Installing under cabinet lighting is as much a gymnast trade as electrical, especially when it's over a sink, behind a valence mounted on a floating panel. Youth is a wonderful tool to have for this as well. The connector itself requires 1-1/2" recess as the light is so trim that you don't have the space to mount it from the inside. The light is about 1/3rd the size of the one it's replacing, so for me there was an adjustment and a lil touch up. The rating was for the misleading light spectrum. The quality seemed excellent for its ability to hold tightly together. The value is rated a little low as I must adjust to the color and don't know how long it will perform..

Very tight area for connections. Best to use knock out somewhere other than switch side. But if you must cut each incoming lead about 1/2 inch shorter than next, use traditional wire nuts, and cut off excess wire in fixture. Works well with lutron c l wall dimmer with no flicker and very slight hum (way less than non- dimmable florescents it replaced)

Small size is a plus, but makes it difficult to get connections in the case and even more so on the switch side of unit. I found it is best to cut each wire about 1/2 inch shorter than the next and cut out excess hook-up wiring in the unit. Also use had to use smaller traditional wire nuts to make connections. Once installed they give great even light much like florescent cool white, but without the hum and flicker.

The GE 12 in. Premium LED direct wire under cabinet light is the perfect light. I installed three of these in a brand new kitchen and they are exactly what I wanted. I have them direct wired to a light switch on the wall but if I want, I can turn each light off manually at the light itself by using the rocker switch that's on top of each light. I have used other under cabinet lights in the past that advertise being the brightest but quite honestly, I don't like to be blinded, instead, I really do prefer these 12 in. Premium LED lights over the other brighter, more expensive ones. This 12 in. Premium LED light is hands down the all around perfect under cabinet light.

Fantastic LED lights. They have a great warm glow and dim perfectly. Have installed them in 2 homes. Installation is a breeze with the connectors. Just trim the wire and push into the clip. No need to use wire nuts. I have it paired with the Lutron Caseta dimmer and they are controlled and dimmed with the Amazon Echo. All work flawlessly.

I bought this about a week ago and finally had the final part to wire this all up together. I bought two of these at the time because they were going to be put underneath my metal cabinets I have in the garage. I glued some neodymium magnets to their base and attached it that way so I can easily remove them if need be. Then I got an extension cord repair cord to wire them to an outlet socket. Wired both lights together and to the extension cord and turned them on and had a good amount of light now at my workbench.

Easy for assembling. Good quality. We installed the light on the top of the bookcase and the room became very bright. We are very happy with this pruchace.

Finally got my electrician to install and I love it. Light is good color, dimmer switch works well. It is installed behind a valence.

The unit is small in size, light weight, dimmable and puts out a good amount of light. I have put in several of this brand and style in different sizes and locations and they have worked well. Having said that, I bought this one to replace one that I had installed a month earlier that was failing which is the reason for the less than 5 stars. But I wouldn't be afraid to buy more because this is the first one that I have had fail.

Easy install, comes with rx connector and mounting screws. Looks great, nice and bright!!

It would get 5 stars, but the mounting screws that are with the lights are longer than 1/2in and poked through into the cabinet. Also would have preferred a daylight color option.

It is just as expected. I gave it a 4 because it was pretty expensive for a very basic light.

I bought 2x 36" and 1x 48" lights to replace the old original T12 light fixtures in my kitchen. Simple to install, love the push connector for the wires. Very bright. Just what I was looking for.

I have 3 of these above my granite counter tops. I have had previous plug in halogen lights in the same position and could never get all of my counter space light enough. The only other light in my kitchen is from can lights and a ceiling fan, so my work space/counter tops were always dark or in shadows. I like a BRIGHT cooking space. Well, these do the job too good! I had to install a dimmer after seeing how bright they were! My daughter couldn't even look directly at them! The dimmer makes them PERFECT. No fluttering or other issues. Finally solved the problem after years of trying!

I was able to install this product easily and am very satisfied with the under cabinet light output.

I think this fixture is overpriced for the value. The installation was difficult for me, and I done fixture installations before this one. To start with, getting the fixture apart was not easy. I found out later the two small end screws are difficult to reattach when the fixture is already hanging underneath the cabinet. I loosened the two mount screws to the cabinet, so I could slip off the fixture to get the end screws reattached, then slipped the fixture back on to the mount screws. The retaining nut to the wire harness to be attached to the end of the fixture did not want to be threaded. I finally left it loose. Lining up the cover for reattachment took several attempts because the two end screws holes would not line up. I wound up forcing bigger screws into the holes to get the screws to bite onto the cover. Wiring the fixture to the dimmer switch was no problem. When I activated the circuit, the fixture responded well to the dimmer. I will not buy another of these fixtures.

This light was easy to install and works great! It was perfect for under a corner angled cabinet in our kitchen project.

I installed 6 of these Premium LED under cabinet light fixtures in a customers new kitchen remodel. I received a call 3 days later saying that one of the lights was flashing or flickering. When I purchased the light fixtures I also purchased the Dimmer that was recommended on the back of the light fixture package. This caused a lack of faith in me to my customer and also cost me time and money.

Love this light and it has made a huge difference in our kitchen. It is a little big in terms of how much space it takes under the cabinet, but I'm willing to adjust to have the extra light. We're very happy that it is LED.

I am very pleased with this 24 inch LED under the cabinet light which replaced a 22 year old Fluorescence light fixture. At only 8 watts of power I would guess it is at least 2x the brightness compared to 40 watts of old fluro bulb. This LED light emitts a soft light, kind of on the warm side. It compliments my kitchen counter nicely. I took pictures at night with and without the flash of my camera. It is a very nice light!

Like this product. Installed the 48" and two identically designed 24" units just 3 days ago. Nice and bright with the desirable color temperature I expected. Only suggestion is to place a few more knockout locations along the backside panel for incoming wire entry. I was needing to match up entry location to existing wiring coming out of the wall which was not in the center of the appliance (where an existing knockout is) on two out of the three fixtures. Had to drill a ~1/2" hole through the metal in order to match up. Worked out just fine, but just extra work that could possibly be avoided. Also, would like to see an additional product having a power outlet receptacle - maybe adjacent to the switch.

Before being scared off by the reviews here saying how poorly these fixtures are designed and how difficult they are to install, ask yourself these questions: have you ever installed any hard-wired electrical devices (lights, outlets, microwave, etc.) before? Ever tried to stuff a dozen wire nuts into a J box? If so, you can install these. Yes, the knockouts are a little stiff to remove. Yes, the small strain relief made it difficult to insert a pair of 14-2 romex. Yes, it was a little tricky dressing all the wires to allow the panel to close. Yes, it stinks to have to wire these while upside down in the farthest corner of your countertop. But if you have indeed ever installed any other electrical devices, you know these sorts of frustrations are just part of the process sometimes. I rather think GE did a good job with these. The panel will hang in place while you wire it. They provide quick push-in connectors so you don't have to do wire nuts (and these square splices are smaller, to boot). Sure, if they made these fixtures twice as thick they could have fit a 3/4" hole and relief that would have made it easy. But who would want those ugly bricks hanging in their lovely kitchen? The challenge of installing them was more than offset for me by their unobtrusiveness, which we will now get to enjoy for years. I think many of the people complaining here might have over-estimated their skill or at least their patience, and might have been better off getting the linkable fixtures with the easy snap-in connectors. That's not meant to be an insult -- we all need to honestly assess our skills before taking on any project. So how did they look once installed? I was a little worried the color temperature would be too cool. But these have a lovely, warm color. And they aren't harshly bright like I expected. I'll probably install a dimmer anyway, just for those times where we want a soft accent rather than functional light. But depending on your taste you may not need one. The light pattern is smooth -- not spotty like some LED lights I've seen. Color is warm and home-like. I like the look of the installed fixtures. These fixtures met my expectations and then some.

I've been looking for a long time for LED under cabinet lights that were as good or better than the 'Little Inch' fluorescents I installed over 20 years ago; these GE fixtures finally made the grade. Bright, smooth edges, quality lenses, available in enough sizes. I got 12", 18", 24" 36" and 48" to do my complete kitchen. Cons: Light is a tad cooler than 'warm white', and it would be nice if they were a little smaller, like 34" rather than 36", 22" vs 24", so they would fit under 36" and 18" cabinets. But, they are bright enough so you can go one size down and still have plenty of light. Recommended.

Compact, sleek design, complete installation hardware kit is included. Bright, uniform light. A couple of problems, though. Once the base was mounted, the clips would not all engage to reassemble the lamp because the base warped. Maybe screws would have been better. Also, a minor flaw, the keyhole shaped mounting holes are backwards, not conducive to mounting the back flush with a wall. Still a really nice product, would buy again.

I've only had the lights installed for about 2 weeks, so it is too early to write a comprehensive review. The one problem so far is that they are too bright --- they give off way too much light -- so I had the electrician who installed them use dimmer switches, and now I really like them. I am not sure I will ever use them full strength. Another issue is that even with the usual "light guard" that comes with most new cabinets, you can still see the lights when sitting down at the kitchen table. It would be nice if they were thinner, like some of the (vastly) more expensive versions from lighting stores. But I imagine that most people have an island in their kitchen instead of a central kitchen table, so this might not be an issue for many people. Again, with the dimmers installed, this is less of a problem if I want to be seated and leave the under cabinet lights on.

I've had these installed in our kitchen now for over a month and they are excellent. I used them to replace some older fluorescent T12 fixtures that had ballasts that were starting to fail. This LED fixture actually puts out more light than the older T12 fixture and you do not need to worry about ballasts failing or flickering. The color temperature seems to be slightly cooler than a T12 3k bulb, but not overly so. The color looks just about right in my opinion. I have the lights hooked up to a compatible dimmer and the dimming is exceptional. I recall installing some LED under cabinet lights about 3 years ago and the progress that has been made is amazing! These lights are dimmable down to the level of incandescent lights. I am very impressed overall and highly recommend them.

I had been looking for a replacement for an old fluorescent under cabinet light. This was the perfect replacement. This LED light is so much brighter and whiter light. It was fairly easy to install. I am very happy with this purchase.
