Straight forward and easy to take from the box, plug in and go. Follow the break in instructions, recommended maintenance and the unit should go for many years. I needed to install the drain hose for constant running into the sump pump hole. Perfect for the job at hand.

The Chinese dehumidifier worked great for 1 year, same length as the warranty. On season 2 it ran and ran but no water was collected. Since it was out of warranty I opened it up and found the front coil terribly rusted, to the point rust filled the drain pan. Somewhere in that mess the Freon was set free-on to the ozone layer. So it's going to live in the landfill. GE dehumidifier service has no email address, you can call or chat on the weekdays. The deal sealer on the GE website; if your dehumidifier is out of warranty try to locate a service shop, we don't repair (our) Dehumidifiers. My opinion is $270 a year is way too steep for a dehumidifier. Good luck

This is much quieter than my old 15 year old dehumidifier. It was a very easy setup. Attaching a drainage hose is simple and you really don't even need to read the instructions for setup. My basement now feels much less humid, and I can barely hear this running across the basement and not at all upstairs. Would highly recommend!

I bought this dehumidifier after doing some extensive research on the type of dehumidifier that I needed for my basement in my home. All I can say is this is top of the line and worth the investment. The setup was very quick took me less than 3 min to familiarize myself with the display settings. Also, GE makes two of these same kind of models. One with a pump and hose already included and one without the pump, but has a hose connection for a hose. I ended up buying the unit without the pump and hose as I don't need a pump. I just bought a 6 ft hose to attach to unit and ran it into my sum pump basement drain. Before setting the desired humidity room setting to 40%, the humidity reading in my basement was at 65%. Within 30 min of unit run time, the basement had reached it's desired setting of 40%. I also noticed the air quality in my basement was a lot fresher. Very very happy with this dehumidifier. You won't be disappointed with this brand and model.

Love this GE model ADEL70LW dehumidifier. There's no moisture in our basement. No need to empty the bucket once or twice a day now that I've attached a hose to the machine!

Excellent! I just bought this GE dehumidifier and it works very well. I use it in my loft and it's in a large area with lots of windows - no more condensation!

After considerable research, we bought this GE 70 pint per day dehumidifier, which has no pump, as we have it located in the basement, draining into the same floor drain as the HVAC. We connected an HDX 5/8 in. Diameter x 15 ft. Remnant Garden Hose, so that we could run the unit continuously without emptying it manually. We placed the unit in its permanent location, and then we cut the hose to an exact length that allows water to come out of the machine’s drain (located about 11 inches off the floor), and flow downhill through the hose into the floor drain. We have about five inches of the hose stuck into the floor drain, so that it is unlikely to become dislodged accidentally. See photos. Upon startup, the dehumidifier displayed humidity of 70 percent indoors, which was uncomfortable. We set it to run continuously, to achieve and maintain 45 percent humidity. During the damp weather of late summer and early fall, the unit ran all the time, and since this generated some noise and heat we placed the machine as far from people as possible. Running continuously, it got the indoor humidity down to 50 percent, when the outdoor humidity was consistently 90 to 100 percent. Once the humidity outdoors dropped below the 90 to 100 percent range, the unit achieved 45 percent humidity, and it ran less frequently. With our HVAC fan set to On, so that air circulates continuously throughout the house, the unit dehumidifies our home’s three stories, and we are happy with this 70 pint unit.

Plugged it in, down in the basement. Went back down with the owners manual to set levels, was already pulling moisture out of the air, with water droplets coming out of the hose. Super quiet!

I bought this model to clear moisture and increase temperature in my basement. This product works so well that I noticed immediate improvements.

Seems to be quiet, reliable, and the hose fitting actually WORKS, unlike some models. I had to give it some extra gravity help with a raise to get the water to flow out the hose properly, up and over the lip of the sump pump rim. Only due to what seems to be a drippy hose on my part, (until I can replace it) I have emptied the bucket maybe 2 times in 2 weeks so far. Nice, quiet, good airflow, basement seemed improved over the first night. Would buy again.

I purchased this GE 70 pt. Energy Star dehumidifier on 4-27-2018 for our basement. It's by far the quietest dehumidifier I've ever had, with many useful options/functions. This unit is solid and of great quality, unlike most others I've had in the past. The push buttons are crisp with clear digital readout. The unit's wheels allow it to roll easily on the floor, and also has the easy-to-grip top carry handle if you need to pick it up to move. The re-usable front filter can be cleaned by flushing with water. The constant drain hose connection is hidden under a flip lid if not in use. This dehumidifier exceeds my expectations!!!

It works exactly as it should. Very satisfied.

I have gone through 2 of these units in 3 years. It does great out of the box, but once you hit the 18-month mark, they stop working.

I had this for 2 summers and I only ran it occasionally for those 2 summers. This was not a cheap unit and now it only runs for 5 minutes then shuts off and I see a lot of reviews state the same issue and instead of a solution, you get a Were sorry about that, we hope that you can give GE another try in the future..but that is not going to happen.

The product was a used one and had been sealed and displayed as being brand new. Never used it since there was still water in it and plenty of dirt/dust.

Absolute garbage, didn't even last 2 years. Only brand I've ever had that didn't last twice that.

The dehumidifier portion of this unit works well but the pumps are poor quality. I bought a new unit and the pump stopped working in less than 3 months. Home Depot replaced the unit. The pump on the replacement unit stopped working after another 4 months. If you don't need the pump, this is probably a good unit, but the pump doesn't last.

This dehumidifier is the exact replacement for one I bought three years ago. The first one worked perfectly until it no longer started up as humidity rose, but the fan could be triggered. I certainly hope this one works longer.

If you do get this product, I strongly recommend you get the extended warranty. I just filed a claim for my 2nd unit that has now stopped working after less than two years. They are replacing the one I have under warranty but after that I will NOT buy a GE product again. It's a lot of money to spend for something that I only use 4 months a year in my basement to keep the humidity down and prevent water from dripping off the ductwork. I now also have to repair my ceiling because of water damage.
