  • I have not had the same problems, unit has been working great for 4 years now.

I wouldn't call this unit the best unit, but for the price it's not bad & the water tastes great. I replace filters about twice a year, which costs about $40 each time to replace filters and there are great places online to find deals. My home has a water softener which I know helps keep the unit from clogging up. If you have hard water, I can see this unit needed to be replaced every couple of years. Look at it this way, the new unit with a new set of filters is less than $100. Each filter set online is $50, so really if you need to buy a new unit every so often, it's not too bad. The higher end water filter systems cost 5-7 times as much and filter replacement can be way over $100 per year. I would recommend this unit. The water flow is slow, but it's filtering the water & it tastes great and is worth the few seconds it takes to fill your glass.

I found it pretty easy to install under sink and replacing the filters are very easy. You don't need a specialized "wrench". Just twist and remove.

  • Easy replacement, a small grease packet would have been nice to include

Easy off, easy on replacement. It is recommended to lubricate the existing o-rings with food grade grease before reinstalling. For the cost of the replacement filters it would have been nice to have a small grease packet included, since it's not something I typically have laying around.

  • Works well but too disposable

It really makes our water taste very good. I just hate that there is no way to recycle the cartridge. I wish that the cartridge could be reused by just replacing the filters inside. That is a lot of plastic going to the landfill.

We installed this at our kitchen sink. We have 2 very athletic boys that were going through bottles of water as fast as we could buy them. Now they use this dispenser while at home and to fill water bottles. We use much less plastic, have less trash and our coffee maker is happier too. Cartridges are pricey but only changed every 6 months.

The connector and hose are plastic. Plumber refused to connect them to the copper tubing. I connected myself 2 years ago and have had no problem; however, a friend did. The plastic connector came loose and flooded her kitchen.
