This is the worst thing I've ever ordered from home depot. The first dishwasher ordered didn't work. Then it took almost 2 months to receive a working model. Now that I have received a working model it leaks from the door. And I have yet to get an answer from home depot.

  • Just doesn't fit the dishes or silverware well.
  • December 15, 2015

The positives: 1. Looks awesome 2. Cleans dishes very well The negatives: 1. Silverware in the door is a real problem to load. If you take the rack out, the silverware pokes through and can't fit back. This was a big mistake buying this model when they have a similar model with a normal rack. 2. This unit will not fit a dinner plate and salad plate side by side. I know the photo shows you can, but those are baby sized plates. The net efficiency of useful space is severely compromised by the silverware in the door. The other model adds 2.5" which is just enough for side by side dinner & salad plates. 3. The wine glass retainers are poorly supported with a fragile tab and never stay up out of the way. The other model has the retainer system built into the bottom and not a tab. 4. Be prepared for a shock on how long it takes to do dishes. Up to 5 hours depending on the settings. Our 20 year old dishwasher took 28 minutes (light load setting) to 45 minutes (pots and pans setting) including heat dry cycle. The unit is quiet, but makes so many weird buzzes, hums and clicks that it is annoying. Even for sleeping with it on. I am hesitant to leave it on and leave the house for we had a previous dishwasher that the heat cycle stayed on and melted everything inside. Lucky we did not burn the house down. Overall, we are severely disappointed in selecting this model when GE offers a far more useful model at the same price... and the inside door is stainless instead of plastic on that model. Heed my advice and stay away from this model or any model with silverware in the door.

  • Repair man should be here today between 9 and noon.
  • April 19, 2016

The first installation didn't start, so the delivery company helped us to get a replacement from GE. The replacement came a couple weeks later, we were so excited... then every load... you'd take out a dish and it was dirty... then the next dish too... and the dishwasher tab didn't come out all the way or when it did it didn't dissolve--even the tabs that came complimentary with the product. There was dishwasher tab residue all over the dishes. So we tried different types of cycles to see if others would run better than the regular cycles. But no. We've spent time on the phone with the company and with Home Depot. The repair man should be here today. Worse part is that we've gone without the dishwasher for over a month now and we had a great routine down with our previous dishwasher. Not saying I can't hand wash dishes... that has become an OK routine now too, a bit hard to keep up with all of us... but come on... I would just expect a product that does what it was manufactured to do for that kind of money....

When I received my dishwasher it was missing one of the wheels on the top right side front of the drawer that pulls out. I have no idea who to call for a replacement, and I'm sure is will cost a lot of money, and then I'll have to call a repairman to fix it. Who do I call? Also, I had to buy extra parts to make the dishwasher work with my existing water hose. This is the 3rd dishwasher I have had and it's the first to not be compatible.! Even when using the recommended product "Finish" when washing dishes I still get smokey glasses? So no, I am not a happy customer and will not recommend this product, the top drawer is lop sided and acts like it wants to fall off, I had to purchase extra parts to install, and I have foggy glasses! Please tell me where I can get the roller for the top drawer, I'm stuck with a defective product, and I'm not happy! Where was the quality control team when my product was manufactured? I ordered this product during the cyber Monday promotion.I'm , adding picture of the top drawer so you can see the missing roller, and yes it was in the middle of a cycle. And speaking of cycles they take for ever to complete! The one nice thing I can say about this dishwasher is, it's extremely quite. It is way over priced for what I got!

I've been using the DW for a few weeks now, so I've got some experience with it to be able to give a meaningful review. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. I wasn't looking for a high end DW, but one that looked great from the outside, and blended well with the environment of the kitchen decor/colors/style/etc. Pros: 1. It's really very quiet. (You can hear it running, after it fills, but it's really just a whisper. I prefer that anyway. I don't like it loud, but I don't want total silence either. ) 2. It looks far more "expensive" that it was. The exterior is very nice, and looks sleek and sharp. 3. The racks are adjustable, and the bottle washers have come in more handy than I expected. 4. The utensil rack comes out for easy removal of utensils. 5. Easy as pie to install. 6. The Sanitize cycle is wonderful. Cons: 1. I didn't go with a Stainless Interior (still on the fence with that decision) so the gray plastic interior looks somewhat "chintzy" (i.e. cheap) 2. The door was just flat out impossible to balance according to their instructions. I made all the adjustments documented, and the door sill won't stay in the "almost closed" position. 3. The removable utensil rack (while a great feature) easily comes off the bottom rack when you don't want it to. Maybe I'm moving too fast, but it seems to come off about 35% of the time I pull out the bottom rack. 4. The open feature is manual as opposed to mechanical. i.e. you have to pull to open the release, instead of a door handle-style latch that you pull to unlock it. It's minor, but a bit annoying. Again, for the price, I'm pleased. Other: It doesn't have a "rinse" cycle, and that's my mistake for not catching it before I ordered it. For MY STYLE of use, I'd have liked to have a rinse option. Other than the items above, I'm as pleased as possible for the cost.

Well where do I begin, takes time deciding on any new appliance and the one I had lasted 12 years of faithful service until recent. It was a Whirlpool Gold with every feature you can think of, more then any new one out there today. Times change. After deciding on this GE Dishwasher, price was considered and the brand name also. And had to like the looks of the dishwasher. There is always negatives no matter what review you read, so I can sort of read between the lines of the ones fussy as heck, or that have a problem. And for this price range what do some of you expect, it is roomy inside, has a steam feature that some more high price do not have, has the upper and lower that a lot of other models do not offer. And the bottle jets if you use that feature. Plastic or the stainless steel. All I can say is that this model cleans so good, the glasses sparkle and the dishes sani clean and dry. And the most quiet dishwasher I have ever had, with no noise what so ever, that is so nice. And a lot of people complain about a rinse feature, I have had this on other models, did not make those models any better then this one, the dishes still get rinse and dry. With all that said, for the most part I am happy, but when I order new new means exactly that. No scratches of any kind, no dents, not pot marks in the appliance. When you go to open up the dishwasher the very top part where it is black, has scratches on it, and some marks I do not know what they are, could not tell until the dishwasher was in, and we took off the protective shield. That really upset me off, because I was so happy to get my new dishwasher, and then totally bummed out. Quality is not what it use to be, as far as weight of this item, I had an old GE that was sturdy. You do have to maneuver the dishes in this dishwasher, to fit properly, other then these issues I am happy, with the cleaning performance. But after spending all day my husband putting this dishwasher in, I am not happy with the top part of this dishwasher, if I wanted as is I would have bought as is dishwasher. For this price that I paid, there should be no scratches on it what so ever new means new, do Companies not understand this theory. This is the first purchase made at HD and buying a GE appliance, that I am not happy about. Delivery men were great price was great, dishwasher cleans better then expected. But with the scratch top part, GE really ought to give me a discount, because new means new and not as is PERIOD. Never had a problem buying appliances at any other local store ever with these cosmetic issues and if I did, the stores offered a replacement or a discount on the item, which I took the discount. Do your homework as to where you buy an appliance, buying is the easy part, GOOD CUSOMTER SERVICE they say is almost non existent today. And that is sad. Good Customer Service, is that they listen to the reviews, and why a customer is unhappy I am very upset about the top of the dishwasher if I want an appliance with scratches, I will buy as is. My 12 year old whirlpool gold, looked brand spanking new still, because of how I treat my belongings. Besides the cosmetic issues, this dishwasher in this price range has a lot of features, cleans really good glasses shine, have the upper and lower option, the steam clean and boost, are really great, and the bottle jets if used are nifty. Am happy except for the very top part, thank goodness it is on the top.

  • Good replacement for old dishwasher
  • December 22, 2015

We needed a dishwasher with room for lots of dishes (we are a family of 5) and this worked out well. The dinner plates and bowls fit better than our old washer. This model is very quite. We could never run our previous machine with the TV on unless the sound was turned up a lot. If we turn on this dishwasher, we don't need to change the TV's sound level. (Our floor plan is open and the TV is in another "room" and we sit about 25' from the dishwasher.) The only negative is the baskets for the silverware has larger gaps than our old machine and sometimes the handles slip through.

The dishwasher is quiet, but it has two issues. First, while in the drain cycle the unit will start draining for a few seconds and then stop. It repeats this cycle for at least seven times before continuing with the next phase of washing. The second issue relates to the drying cycle. After it completes the drying cycle most of the dishes are dry, but the interior of the tub is still wet. There is no water pooling at the bottom, but it is obvious the unit cannot adequately vent the moisture while in the drying cycle.

DO NOT PURCHASE !! Purchased this dishwasher 16 months ago. Nothing but trouble. Would not purchase another GE product again!!! Does NOT clean well at all. Have to run multible times to get dishes clean. We even rinse before putting dishhes/cups in. The detergent doesn't dissolve, crystals all over contents. Tried using a different detergent, no help. Customer service is terrible. No help. They do not even service my area. Junk product! Would not even give away to someone else.

  • Great Dishwasher and looks high end. Cleans and dries very well. My wide loves it.

Purchased this on sale at Home Depot. Item was delivered on time and installed quickly. My wife is very please with the machine, which is all that really counts! (Happy wife = happy life!) It looks really good on the outside (Stainless Steel) and it cleans and dries the dishes well. We use a finishing rinse and everything is sparking clean. It's very quiet when it is on, but we turn it on at night (using the delay feature) so it is on after we are sleeping. The inside of the machine isn't as robust as the Bosch we used to own, but it looks to me like it will last for many years. At 1/2 the price of the Bosch and because it cleans just as well, I'm very pleased. Some of the reviews I read before purchasing this unit complain that it takes too long. Unless you run your dishwasher more than once a day, I don't really understand why it matters? We do the dishes almost every evening and set the delay for 4-hours. The unit comes on after we are in bed and they are done in the morning. I suppose if you let dishes pile-up and try to clean them all on the weekend, then I can see why time is important. Candidly it's easier for us to clean as you go versus cleaning everything in one day.
