We wanted a dishwasher that was quiet, and that didn't need any pre-washing/rinsing. We got it.
After pouring through many many, many reviews, it seems like they don't make them like they used to. It seemed like no matter which brand you go with, there is going to be a chance that something is wrong with it. The previous model of this washer apparently had issues with the door. We took a chance on this potential issue as it seems like there are fixes that we can do to make sure we don't have that problem as opposed to problems with the circuit board which we can't fix.
Installing the unit went as expected, wasn't too difficult. The only problem we had was with the outer seal things and securing the unit to the cabinet, but that was more our fault because we installed first, then read the instructions later.
Ran it for the first time last night. We left everything from dinner as it was. No scraping, washing, water of any sort. Sat on the counter for about 4 hours before it went in. We had a chicken salad with a thick sauce. There were bits of onion and chicken on the plates still. We have a baby, so we put her sippy cup stuff on the very top rack. Put it on auto, steam, sani, heated dry, cascade platinum (no rinse aid) and pressed start. Estimated time of 284mins, not a problem as we were going to sleep.
The thing is really quiet. Checked that we didn't have any leaks from our install and went to bed. This morning, opened up the door and everything was clean except, there were two corn kernels on the door, and one piece of spinach on the plastic salad fork which was in the cutlery rack on the bottom shelf. Everything else was spotless. So, as long as we scrape off the excess food into the bin, we are good to go. Very happy about that. The very top rack with the sippy cup stuff did not dry, everything else was dry.
Now all we need to do is hope it lasts long enough to justify the $700.
