This dishwasher is great. I love the third shelf for silverware and small items. It makes a big difference. The silver is individually placed - no more stuck together spoons, each piece is clean and sparkling. I totally removed the silverware holders from the bottom rack - giving me much more room for pots and pans. The bottle washer tines on the top shelf get even the deepest glass or bottles clean. The top rack raises and lowers enough to accommodate Tall bottles on top or deep pots on the bottom.
I do not like the spacing of the plate holder tines on the bottom shelf. They are a bit too far apart to hold my plates securely. I would like to see an additional row of tines near the front of the machine.
This machine is QUIET. Fortunately there is a light on the front of the door to indicate that it is operating. The only noise I ever hear is the sound of water being pumped out through the drain between cycles.
I had reservations about the top-of-the-door controls. They disappear under the counter top when the door is closed. Actually, you select cycles etc with the door open and leaning to you - push start - and when the door closes the unit begins. You can still see the countdown timer which is a great feature.
I have had the dishwasher for 3 months and would readily buy it again.

Having not purchased a dishwasher in some time, the main thing I took away from this unit is how QUIET it is. I literally had to put my hand on the door to feel for vibrations to determine it if was running. That was a nice change from the unit it replaced!
No issues at all with the performance. My only issues (and it is so small I deduct no "stars" for it) is I find you need to load the dishwasher in a very specific way and "non-standard" dishes (think square bowls) definitely reduce the available loading capacity due to the spacing of the dish guides. If you have round dishes and bowls, however, you should have no problems! I'll note the lower rack does have the ability to customize the rack fittings; I just haven't found the idea configuration yet. It also has a small third shelf at the very top, ideal for spatulas, larger silverware items, etc. Bottle jet function can clean inside narrow-necked glasses/bottles. Also has a Piranha hard food disposer with a removable filter.
The controls are located in the top of the door; a nice "new to me" feature is the timer countdown notifying you how much time is left in the wash cycle. Unit emits a small chime when the cycle is complete.
We have had this unit for about a month and have had no issues. I should had we had this unit installed at time of delivery and the delivery crew was great, polite and in-and-out in literally ten minutes. Well worth the installation package!

1. The brackets provided to secure the dishwasher are a fiasco. GE warns not to pinch the latch wires on the left side which are right next to where the bracket goes. Once you get the brackets on, you cannot line up a screwdriver to drive the screws in since the upper rack is in the way. If you do get the screws secured the dishwasher will get out of plumb and tilt to the front. Then the top rack will always be moving forward as soon as you open the door. GE needs to provide a fix for this because several people have had this issue when the install the unit.
2. The unit comes with a metal "floor protect pan" which interferes with the motor wiring on the bottom of the unit unless you raise the unit's feet up all the way.Even then it is difficult to slide in. This pan does nothing to protect a water leak from since it would only hold a cup or two of water . Therefore, it seems to be a worthless afterthought. I would suggest leaving it off and buying a battery powered leak alarm.
3. The vinyl trim pieces that snap into the sides of the unit overlap the side cabinets and look ridiculous. I had to trim off about 3/4" with a utility knife.
It is the little things that will make purchasing a GE product frustrating. in the two years I have owned it it has been relatively maintenance free. This is only because I am not the primary user. it is only when I am allowed to load it do things get noticed. The control panel trim was partially broken off, I replaced it. Now I go to open the third shelf and the head is hanging down. Closer observation, the welds were not fully fused and what did fuse has rusted away in the stainless steel tub.

We like this dishwasher. It has gotten our dishes cleaner than they have ever been. It's nice and quiet too. We got this one because of the bottle jets and third rack. The one drawback is that it takes a long time to run. But, overall we like the dishwasher.

I've had this dishwasher since January. It is quiet, it does get the dishes clean, and I love the third rack for utensils. However, the bottom rack is weird in that my plates do not stand upright, they tilt over in a haphazard way. I've tried adjusting the spacing as that seems to be a feature and I can't get it right. Surely there must be a perfect setting that will allow the plates to stand upright?
I bought this dishwasher to replace the one that came with my house two years ago. It is one of the best investments I've made. It is so quiet that I actually forget it's running. The bottle jets work wonders and there are a lot of really useful features that other dishwashers I looked at just didn't have. On a normal cycle it runs 146 minutes which is about half the time of my old dishwasher.
