It's important to note that the water filter should be replaced every six (6) months or after every 200 gallons of dispensed water to ensure optimal performance. If you prefer not to use a genuine GE Appliances water filter, a bypass plug must be used. If the plastic bypass plug was not supplied with your refrigerator or has been misplaced, one can be ordered at no charge by calling 1-800-432-2737.

Hello - Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We don't rate the sound level of our refrigerators or freezers, which means we are unable to provide a decibel level for while they are running. Newer refrigerators sound different from older models because they have more features and use newer technology.
