WIFI SET UP TIPS
It is too early for me to offer a review as I have only had mine for about 6 hours. I have seen a couple of reviews that noted frustrations setting up the wifi. I struggled more than expected (10 minutes or so) with the washer but learned a couple of things that made the dryer set up much quicker.
FIRST THE WIFI PASSWORD IS ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. LOCATE THE PASSWORD BEFORE YOU START THE CONNECTION PROCESS! The image in the phone app misleads you in to thinking it will be somewhere clearly visible on the control panel. To anyone at GE this should be step #1 in the app connection process, not step #2. The time delay spent looking for this and entering it into the field will cause a connection error that can only be resolved by closing the app, disconnecting from the machine wifi and starting the process over from the beginning.
After you have entered the machine wifi password into the app field, COPY THE MACHINE WIFI PASSWORD INTO YOUR PHONE CLIPBOARD BEFORE HITTING THE "NEXT" BUTTON! The washer and dryer each had several dropped connections during the setup process. This forces you to reenter the password multiple times. Pasting it in makes this much less frustrating.
You should expect multiple software updates before being able to monitor and control your machine remotely. I was told I had a happy machine 4-5 times only to be notified of the need for an update 15 seconds later.
I JUST ordered this washer from H.D. based on lots of research. My faithful SAMSUNG he steam washer finally died after almost 12 years. Based on all these one star reviews it seems the that the issues all seem to be the motherboard, which is probably the most expensive (&complicated) part on any washer. More troubling is bad reviews are ALL fom the last 4 months. This proves GE has manufactured a "Bad Batch" of motherboards. Really GE, you can't see this and implement recall? Shame on you. With corona, GE at Appliance Park in KY has had a halt to, and now slow pick up in production. I have paid for washer but delivery is set for SEPT. 22nd???!!! Obviously standards are not being met and they don't care. I have a feeling class action lawsuit down the road like whirlpool Calypso had. Well I still have plenty of time to dispute credit card transaction and get money back. Buy an he Samsung.
I don't know about you, but there is zero chance I'm sitting around waiting for my laundry to finish so I can hit the button to run the Venting feature, which is the whole reason I bought it. Why doesn't it run automatically after each load? Set it and forget it! I've had it for two months and ran the feature once. 99% of the time the laundry is sitting there wet because i'm doing something else and already the gasket is looking funky. Also, for bulky items, they come out soaking wet, even with extra spin. Last, the controls are not simple or intuitive, takes me awhile to get the right setting to be able to get all the features aligned because some of the settings don't allow you to change the components - they're hard coded. All in all, i'm very disappointed in this purchase. Not worth the money.

I absolutely would not recommend this product due to GE customer service. I have spoken to several customer service agents and received an initial email from an engineer which no subsequent response. The last agent I spoke told me that it was best that I just return my washer and dryer because they did not have the ability to assist me before my 30 day return window closed. I am so disappointed in this experience. We've never been able to connect the Wi-Fi for the washer which was one of the features I liked best. All they can tell me is that this is a known issue and it's because of where the hardware is in my washer and the distance to my router. The dyer connects just fine and that is further from the router. They told me to go out and buy a bigger more expensive router and put it next to my washer. That was the only way I could get it to work. They told it was a defect, but nothing they could do and that I would just have a wait for the engineer who is the only engineer for this for the whole country. I was so excited for this washer and dryer and the GE customer experience ruined it for me.
