I love this washer! It is so big I can get all of my laundry done very quickly. I love all of the settings, very reasonable and not too complicated. Very quiet compared to our last washer. Very happy with our purchase.

So far so good. A few weeks in and it's a nice washer. It holds a lot of items and is nice and quiet while running. Our clothes look and feel good after too. I love that the agitator doesn't have pointy edges like our last washer. I hope this lasts about 15 years for us.

First, the delivery guys were great. They were very careful not to bang any walls or the unit. Then showed me how to use it even though I had read the manual online. I was very apprehensive about these new HE washers, but after doing the first load it went completely away. I like the fact you can choose the water level just like the "ole" washers or choose precise fill. Also, you can open the lid to check things, add more items, etc., except on spin cycle. One thing I would like to comment on. During the drain cycle as the water is empty the drain hose "pulsates" for a lack of a better word just like my old GE washer did. This pulsating caused the drain hose to bang on the back of the washer. A simple tie down of the hose took care of that issue. So far I really like this washer as a replacement of my old GE washer!

  • Very gentle on clothes.

This is my second recent washer by general electric; I returned the first one after three months because it was too harsh on my clothes, that model had a single action agitator, this model has a much gentler dual action one. Overall, I am very happy with this washer, its cleaning performance outpaces my last washer, a high-end Samsung. The dual-action agitator is much different than dual actions of the past; this model features low profile fins at the bottom, that with which, enables it to use less water during a cycle. You do not have to use less water, but it is an option. If you wish to fill the tub up, you can do so via the load size selector knob. The machine is not too loud, but it does sound different than washers of the past, so you may think it sounds strange. In all, this machine washes good, clothes are clean but not overly stretched. I believe this machine has the potential to last 15 years or more with due care. Both my friend and my aunt have this machine, and they both love it—same model GTW465ASN1WW.

Our front load washing machine went out unexpectedly last week, so I had to make a quick decision on a new washer since the parts to fix it would cost more than a new washer. I decided to go back to a top load washer because we have not been happy with the time it takes to wash clothes in a front load washer, clothes do not seem clean, and the parts are so expensive. After reading several reviews, I decided to go with this GE washer. It is a basic washer with a few extra features that make it perfect for our needs. We love that the option to select the water level and temperature. A bonus is the capability to soak clothes for a specific time period. The washer was delivered on Thursday, and I have already tested it out with several loads of laundry. I am VERY pleased with the efficiency and capacity of the washer. It handles a large load of beach towels much better than the front load washer ever did. Several reviews comment on the noise level, but we found that was only true when the washer was run on empty. (The installation guys had to run a test cycle.) Once we put in a load of clothes the noise level decreased. The price point on this washer makes it an even better deal! I would buy it all over again if given the choice. If you are looking for a basic washing machine that gets the job done, then you will love this washer!

  • Not like previous model!
  • October 21, 2019

I got it delivered on Oct 12, 2019. Today the 20th I went do do my first load of laundry and as I was putting the settings to my preference, the option knob on the far right was wobbly and when I turned it the knob came off and the plastic post fell back and down the covered back of washer. Which is unretriveable...this washer has been manufactured cheaply and not like my previous GE that I bought in 2017 and was ruined in a flood. If you buy it check all the knobs and doors and plugs! I'm going to see if they bring me another new washer...wish me luck!

Delivery was great, the guy’s were on time and did a good job. The washer has performed very well so far. Clothes are clean and no problem with a big load of laundry. Very happy with this product. This after 2 weeks of using. I’ll post another report later this year.

  • January 14, 2020

After a month the drum which is supposed to be stainless steel started to rust in spots all over the drum. Ruined a lot of whites when they went through a wash cycle. Called for warranty because after 48 hours from delivery its your problem, not the retailers. Now GE says its our water quality (we live in Sarasota on City water, really?) and they won't go good on a repair. That is after a two minute inspection which took a week to arrange. What a crock of crap. These parts are being manufactured in China and assembled in good old USA. The owners of GE are Haier of China. The assembly is fine but don't be fooled by the sub standard level of materials used. They are a country that doesn't seem to understand metallurgy. Don't buy this so you end up with this problem. Their recommendation was we should wash the drum before using it each time. Yes, they think its normal to wash your washing machine before you use it. Good Luck America.

  • Deep fill DOES NOT work EVER!
  • June 15, 2020

My clothes are coming out dry with Laundry soap all over them. My deep fill option worked the very first time I used it and now it won’t work at all. Hundreds of people and reviews I’m seeing online are saying the deep fill option doesn’t work from day 1. They ARE right! I can’t wash anything beyond a VERY SMALL load of laundry. I can’t wash towels or comforters at all. I’m having to use buckets of water to fill up my washer and I’ve only had it 3 weeks and Home Depot doesn’t want to take it back. This is the SECOND washer that has been broken I’ve received and I’m furious. I’ve emailed and called, GE don’t return calls or anything. Do not buy this washer. I tried to wash pillows and you can clearly see their is NO water. It fills up a few inches and shuts off.
