    It worked perfectly for 7 months and then completely failed late at night, spoiling $3K of meat. GE couldn’t find anyone to repair it so they authorized a buy-back

      So far we are very happy with the freezer, we are consolidating and the basket and grid works great.

              Pull on the handle to open freezer for set up. Handle came off right in my hand. Im guessing they do not test before shipping out

                Big Freezer
                We are loving having the power outage light notification. It's nice to know if there was a power outage. The frost does seem to be building up and causing the drawers to not slide as well as I would like. I could easily chop it away but it's not something I want to spend my little free time doing.

                    The two decks of sliding trays is a revelation in chest freezer organization. Living in the middle of nowhere ; my criticism is that the “special instructions” provided for on-line orders were NOT relayed to the delivery team which made for extra work for both customer & drivers.

                      Right features
                      Replaces a 40 year old Amana 20 cubic ft freeze. We liked the idea of garage rated because it is in a shed that is not heated or cooled

                        Was a good freezer until it died. Had constant power running to it and the only notification was the smell of rotten food. Lost $$$$ worth of fish and steaks.

                          Air Leaks in Seal I think
                          The freeze builds up thick frost along the door seam. To me that is a seal that leaks. ???? There are several places this happens. Along the top of the baskets which there are 4 and also in the middle of the seam on the back. Not sure if this is normal for a GE freezer but it is only a few months old. I did email GE and waiting for a reply.

                            The lid doesn't seal very well at all.
                            As listed in the title the lid on this model doesn't seal very well. Several other reviewers have had dhis same problem. I've been using mine for a month now and already I have to defrost it. Do yourself a favor and buy another model.

                              Absolutely great, love the baskets that are able to be on two rows and the dividers you get too. Allows you to organize a chest freezer which usually would get rather messy or you forget what is at the bottom now you don't!

                                    3.5 years and no problems. I depend on seeing the green light on the front to know it’s working. Flashing red tells me electricity went out. Freezer sits on our carport.
