It was easy to follow the directions and replace old filter.

Water filter works well refrigerator works well. I trust GE replacement parts.

Filter was easy to install and lasts about 6 months. I’m cautious about purchasing lower priced filters. My only gripe is how expensive these filters are! But a water filter is something you should never cheap out on.

These filters do not fit my 2010 side by side refrigerator. The opening of the filter is 1/16” smaller than the original MWF filters. I am getting the same responses that MWFP filters are the new ones to use, but agin they say MWF on the outside of the filter and the opening is smaller. What filter fits?????

I have faithfully replaced this filter every 6 months for over 5 years, today, on Thanksgiving of all days, I wake up to my kitchen flooded! It looked like the filter failed and busted open leaving the contents of the fridge and the floor flooded. The filter was replaced on July 17th, so only 4 months old. Water was spewing out of the area where it separated, see photo. I have never had any previous issues, it wasn't overtightened, it appeared to work properly until today, now my day and my floor are ruined.

Great product genuine water filter. Great tasting water

This product works as advertised, however you should wear safely gloves and take precautions when trying to open the clam-shell plastic packaging to avoid lacerating your hand. I am disappointed that GE could not make a safer, user-friendly way to open the package -- such as perforated lines or a simple pull tab.

GE has an issue with some of their Refrigerators. The inside peg that hits the dispenser is either not long enough or becomes worn out over time. This causes the water dispenser to fail. Also, it would help out if there was some sort of abrasive material on the filter to allow it to be easily handled. It’s a bit tough reaching into the refrigerator to install it while it’s slipping from your hand. Please refer to the pictures to see what I’m referring to.

I have 4 GE products. I must of saved between $590.00 to $645.00 easily, by choosing GE. The filter for the refrigerator is easy to install and I love the display light that lets you know when it's time to replace it.

This is the MWF refrigerator water filter made by GE, not a substitute filter (of which there are many on the market). It was an exact replacement for the filter in my GE refrigerator and functioned the same. Although more expensive than substitute filters, I had heard of problems with some of those and wanted to use a filter that I could count on. Remember to fill it slowly with tap water before placing in the refrigerator (until air bubbles stop coming out) to avoid sputtering when water first comes through. My refrigerator had no arrow mark on the filter housing. GE said to hold the filter with its arrow centered on the front of the housing when raising it into the housing (and turn clockwise after contact, about one-half turn, which will raise it into its final position).

It is easy to install! It only took a moment. Then I ran water from the dispenser for 1-1/2 gallons. Done.

I have tried knock-off brands for my refrigerator but these seem to do a better job. I can see and taste the difference in my drinking water.

I bought this refrigerator because of where water filter was located & the exterior slate finish......

MWF for GE very easy to install, but my fridge needed a GWF but none were available nor could I find a cross-reference chart showing the equivalency of the MWF. Surprised by the price ----- $50.00 and they only last about 6 months! Oil Filters for modern cars are similar but cost a lot less.

My filter is actually MWF. Supposed to align arrow with the arrow on the filter holder but there is no arrow on the filter holder. Struggled to get it installed but once it was installed water would not run. Waiting for GE appliance repair!

Easy to install; works great!

I bought this item about a month ago and it still has two months to go. It is working great. I am signed up automatically to receive one every three months. Saves me time and money.

We recently moved to a new home with a GE Refrigerator. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy and accessible it was to replace the water filter. We were originally skeptical that a single water filter could provide the effectiveness that we required in previously having a full Reverse Osmosis System at our prior home. Our skepticism is long gone....the filtered water tastes great and is safe for both us and our 4 legged companions.

Purchased a 2nd hand GE Refrigerator, got it all hooked up & water barely trickled out of the dispenser on the door. Looked up the manual and it says that's a sign of an old filter, so I purchased this one online, picked up in store & it streams right out after & taste great. If your water dispenser is slow, I'd recommend changing the filter, as it's recommended every 6 months in my fridge's manual. And mine is conveniently located in the upper right corner inside the refrigerator so I can just open the door, reach back, unscrew old one & install new one.

I have used these filters several time over the years and they have always worked great while providing our family with safe, great tasting water! I highly recommend the original replacement filter over the after market ones. Mark

This filter installs easily in just a few seconds. The water flow through it is superior to the aftermarket brand Home Depot offers. It is worth the extra expense to get the OEM filter for your GE refrigerator.
