We love cooking on gas and this cooktop is so easy to use and the features to include the grill option work great.

I have to have met I was nearest installing this new stove. I thought I was going and do some serious damage. But what I thought was going to be difficult turn on to be extremely easy to set up.

I replaced my 25 yr old GE Profile Cooktop with this new cooktop with these knobs, installed on 1/7/2020–just three weeks ago! Last night, while cleaning up after cooking dinner, I noticed the silver paint missing from two of my knobs. Mistakenly, I thought the bad reviews about these knobs were problems resulting from user’s errors. Why would a cooktop be equipped with PLASTIC knobs that are not heat resistant? Okay, I understand that nothing today is made to last 25 years. However, I would certainly expect it to last more than a few weeks under normal use. UNBELIEVABLE!

I recently purchased this GE Cooktop. I had to pay a plumber $150.00 (one hour) and I trimmed the granite because a contractor wanted hundreds of dollars more. The Stainless Steel scratches really easily, so now I use Scotch Brite reusable wipes, micro sham clothes, and a stainless steel polisher/cleanser. I also use liquid Bar Keepers to clean the burners and caps. You have to be careful placing the grills because they will easily scratch the stainless steel too. Yes, this cooktop is high maintenance. I read that the heat damages the knobs. The cooktop sautés food wonderfully - just remember to keep the heat low and clean after each use. She's a beautiful cooktop and nice addition in my kitchen.

We really like this GE 5 burner cooktop. It is a great upgrade to our older 4 burner cooktop and most importantly gives us much better control over the heat underneath the pans. We recently upgraded our old 4 burner 30” cooktop with this new 5 burner GE cooktop and have been impressed with the results so far. Besides having an extra center burner, we have noticed that the large 12,000 BTU and 9,500 BTU burners give us much greater control over the burner flame, resulting in the ability to have better simmering when we’re cooking sauces and stews. We also like the dual ring ‘power burner’ in the center as it will bring a pan of water to boil very quickly compared to our old cooktop thanks to its 18,000 BTU rating. Equally impressive is the fact that you can reduce this to the smaller of its dual stage burners and this will keep a pan on a gentle simmer very easily without the usual bubbling and splashing we had grown accustomed to. We also like the LED lights that are built into the burner controls as they remind you when a burner is left on and look very elegant, especially in the evenings when preparing dinner. There is also a useful ‘Lock’ control which will switch the gas off and prevent children from accidentally switching on the gas. When in ‘lock’ mode, there is an orange warning light to let you know that the burners won’t work. The stainless steel cooktop is cleaned with either mild soapy water or a combination of vinegar and water and any spills while cooking need to be promptly cleaned off to avoid discoloration. The cast iron grates are very heavy duty and you need to take care when removing and reinstalling them since it would be easy to be careless and accidentally scratch the stainless steel finish. The burner grates can be cleaned in the dishwasher which is handy. We were a little disappointed that the cook top did not come with a griddle however one is available as an aftermarket accessory if you search Home Depot website for GE’s part number JXGRIDL230. Installation was pretty straightforward and it fit into the existing cut out in the countertop left by our old 30” range. I had to do a few small modifications since the old cooktop had been installed using mextric measurements but after 5 minutes with the jigsaw, all was ready to go. The cooktop comes pre-installed with natural gas burners and also includes a propane conversion kit. We decided to replace our gas supply flexi line as part of the install since the old one was 13 years old. Once we had dropped the cook top onto the counter, connected the gas line and plugged in to the 110v outlet in the cabinet, it was ready to go. I probably spent an hour removing the old cooktop and installing this one. I found registering the product to be very simple since the registration card comes with a QR code which I simply scanned with my mobile phone. No mailing in cards or going online which was a pleasant surprise. The cooktop comes with a one year limited warranty that includes in home repair for any part of the cooktop that fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship.

The GE Profile 30 in. Gas Cooktop in Stainless Steel with 5 Burners including the Power Burner is a good looking update for any kitchen. The stainless steel provides for easy clean up and great looks. The power burner, the center burner, brings large pots of water to a boil faster than any cooktop I have previously used, comparable to many commercial burners.The coooktop comes with everything necessary to update your existing cooktop, it even provides the new jets, if using the propane instead of natural gas. The detailed instructions were easy to follow. Has a 3/8" gas inlet and 120V plug for igniting the burners and powering LED lights under the knobs. The cast iron grates maintain heat and are very sturdy, I dont feel any flex in them while handling large heavy pots or cast iron pans. The LED nobs glow from underneath when a burner is on, this allows the user to see if the gas is on, but no burner is lit, which is a nice safety feature. The cooktop also has gas lockout, this is just another added safety feature if you have young children in the house.

This is my first time using a separate cooktop and oven. I'm not sure why they are more expensive than a regular combo but I needed this one for a preexisting installation so I got this one. It's really nice. I didn't know what the knobs lit up until after I installed it. It's a nice feature. I tested the middle burner to see if it actually boiled water faster than the others and it did. I love that they were able to fit 5 burners in a 30 inch cooktop without being awkward. I saw another review that claimed the knobs were breaking. I haven't had mine long enough to know but they seem pretty solid. They aren't made out of plastic like others. The grates are heavy duty and weigh more than the actual stove. I'm guessing they are made out of cast iron. Installation was a breeze and, if it matters to anyone, the gas line connects on the right side.

So far I'm really liking this stovetop; it performs well and it looks nice. It's easy to clean, lights fast, and the layout is well designed. The two left-side burners are the same 'medium' size, and you can put a large griddle across both. The center burner has 4 gas jets; 3 provide the "big" heat, and one provides a super low simmer flame. The two right-side burners are a mix of big and small. The burners and burner caps lift right off for easy cleaning. All parts are indexed and unique, which means that they only fit one way. You can't put the wrong part into the wrong place. The top surface is a good grade stainless, and any serious stains can be polished out. The grills are a good quality cast iron with a natural finish. They are durable and easy to clean, but they can scratch the bottom of pans, especially until they wear down a bit, so it's something to watch for. They align perfectly and fit with almost no gap. One minor issue is that they sit on small silicone rubber inserts (buttons); if those buttons wear down, or degrade, then you will have problems. The grills will not fit directly on the stove top (metal to metal). The control panel is tilted about 5 degrees for ergonomics. Knobs are lit with 3 white LEDs each when in the ON position; light is visible in daytime and normal kitchen lighting. All the knobs turn with a very smooth feel, although they wiggle around some, but I guess that's normal for most gas stoves. They are silent, and do not have the loud 'click' when you turn them off. This model has a gas lockout knob; when locked out, a red light glows. You have to get used to seeing a red light when the system is safe; it would be nice to have a GREEN light instead. The control knobs still light up even with the gas valve closed, which provides an additional level of safety. I'm running on propane, and the output is fantastic. Propane conversion parts are included: a dual-gas regulator and LP orifices. It takes about 5 minutes to switch it over, although it is recommended to use a qualified technician. Standard 120v power is required for the ignitors and lights; power draw is negligible, about 8 watts with everything on. It uses no electricity with everything off. All controls are mechanical, and without power (power outage, etc) it still works if you light the burners manually. Overall build quality is excellent, and it is made in the USA.

This GE Profile 36 inch gas cooktop in stainless steel comes with five burners including power burners, and is a great looking cooktop. It has 18,000 BTU tri-ring burners and a 3 in 1 burner design for accelerated boiling and gentle simmering. White LED backlit heavy duty knobs and a control lock capability. Sealed cooktop contains spills making cleaning quick and easy in maintaining this beautiful top.

Love it! Enjoy having a griddle and the stainless is so pretty.

I am getting used to this stove top. So far, so good.

It was never installed because there were no installers near me. I returned it and bought from someone else.

Great to have 5 burners that are easy to control and clean.

We are very happy with our cook top. We only had 4 burners before , now 5 burners which makes cooking multiple dishes very easy.

This is a nice upgrade from our old GE rang top and we like the extra features such as the 5th burner, cast iron griddle, lighted knobs, and high quality parts.

Replaced the 20 year old Profile with this and it is awesome. Love the griddle feature also. Highly recommend.

Design and performance seemed working perfectly and met our expectation

Very attractive and functional. What I really like is that the burner control lights up when it's turned on to any degree making it difficult to forget to turn the gas off when the burner is on low.

We have previously had GE Profile appliances in our kitchen which have performed satisfactoily. This new Profile cooktop works well for both heating and cooking.

It certainly does the job! Just what we needed. It is efficient and clean.

Love everything about this stovetop except the thin stainless-steel metal for which it is made of. After using it (especially if using more than one burner) there will be a loud popping noise as it cools back down. The appliance is easy to clean and it's easy to adjust the flame. We got the fifth (quick boil) burner which works very well, all stove tops should have this type of burner.

After weeks of going back and forth with Home depot, we finally got our cooktop. We made the mistake of purchasing this during a sale, only to find out they charged us a different amount then what was listed in checkout. We couldn't get our money back and they have a terrible return policy. Get a this cooktop, but from somewhere else.

Cooktop grates feet are 100% unprotected. Anyone, but Neal Armstrong is going to scratch up the cooktop when landing these grates. Cannot believe GE removed the protective feet from the grates.

I have not used the cooktop very much yet but am very happy with it compared to the prior cooktop. It actually simmers (other one did not) and the fast boil works great. Only negative I find is that it seems to scratch easy.

I love the new stove, but it gets water stops really fast.

We have had this cooktop since November 2021 and I don't do daily cooking. I find it difficult to keep shiny as there is darkening near the burners and I can't remove it fully. Also, my biggest complaint is that it takes so long to boil water. This cooktop replaces a 20+ year old cooktop that boiled water so fast. I realize the center burner will bring water to a boil faster but if my pot is not that big, it causes burning on the side of the pot. I love the 5 burner design but not very happy with the maintenance and performance. On a positive note, the simmer burner works very well.

The review is not about the product but about pricing. Why is Home Depot selling it for $2000 or $1800 when the actual price at all other stores is $1400
