No problem installing and no leaks afterwards. However, I did need to exert a little extra torque to get it fully seated

Works Great
We change our water filter every 6 months & have had good success ordering through GE. If we have a problem they have been great to work with.

GSW
Replaced GE blue label GSWF with GE purple label GSWF. Purple label GSWF hole is narrower and will not allow water to flow.

Hi there, and thanks for taking the time to let us know of your experience. We regret any trouble you had with the GSWF replacement being narrower and not allowing water flow; reduced water flow is not a known issue, and certainly not what we would expect of this filter.
Have you tried removing and reinstalling the filter, to make sure everything is installed as it should be? If it might help, we have Installation Instructions for the GSWF available here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-6000022-1.pdf . For water flow issues, you may also want to check to make sure there is no kink in the supply tubing or a clog in the saddle-valve.
We hope those tips may be helpful in resolving this issue. To discuss this subject a bit further and help with a resolution, we will also be reaching out over email. We look forward to hearing back from you, and are also available for any other concerns or questions you may have. -Sarah@GEA

Design flaw
Replaced GE blue label GSWF with GE purple label GSWF. Purple label GSWF hole is narrower and will not allow water to flow. Tried two new filters. When will GE recall purple label filters and correct this mistake?

Original filter
I always prefer to get the manufacturers original filter instead of a knock off. This was easy to order, came timely and fit just right

Pressure Loss
i notice a significant water pressure loss at the refrigerators water spout. this has been getting worse over time. Although at times, i can get a new GSWF filter that seems to work fine, ie. no flow or pressure drop problems. The problem seems to lie in the filter. There is no build up if the refrigerators tubing/routing. This problem has been getting worse and i attribute it to the manufacturing process.

Hi there, and thank you for reaching out to us about your experience. We truly hate to hear you've had a problem with a decrease in water pressure. We know something like that would be concerning.
We do have a test process to determine if the pressure and water flow is lower than we would expect, and whether the filter is clogged or you have another issue. That test is laid out in the following article, if you'd like to review the process: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16873 . The test also discusses other possible issues that could cause a lack of water pressure.
If you want to double check and make sure the filter you're using is right for your model, we also have a tool for that here: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/filter-finder . Our Parts department can be reached at 1-877-959-8688 if you determine the filter is the problem and need assistance with getting a replacement.
We will certainly send your feedback on this possible problem with the filter to our design team for review; we sincerely value your insights, as we always want to be aware of potential issues. If you have any other concerns or questions, we're glad to help. -Sarah@GEA
