These are hands down the best screws out there. They do cost 3x more than general construction screws, but that’s because they’re rated for structural work. I still use them for everything though!

Manufactured with high quality. Not a single screw wasted. Screw head and bit holds tight together to work with it. Use magnetic drill bit holder to make life easy.
Worth every penny. Will never purchase star head for over screws .

My Soliders and I had built about 20 shelves made out of 2x4 one weekend and these screws are by far the best screws I have ever used. They go in so smooth and hardly requires any effort or pilot holes. Only had one bad screw out of the two pails that I had bought. I definitely will buy these for future projects.
The only issue that I had was, I didn't see any pail bigger than the one that I had purchased. Would have liked to have seen a 25 lb bucket.

Thisbis the third time I have used the GRK brand screws as they are great fasteners. The first time I used GRK brand fasteners I was attaching thin hard wood boards from pallets to a building as siding. The fasteners used previously were the thinnest deck screws but each needed predrilled or the would split at the ends. When I switched to the GRK brand screws the trim heads worked fine and held the boards in place without splitting. The next use with the GRK brand screws were withe an earlier addition on the deck I used the R4 General Purpose screw which worked very well going through the 1 x 3 pine firring stripps used for a lightweight deck. And finnaly the current project an addition to the existing deck in which I'm using the GRK cabinet screws in which I bought purley out of curiosity on its holding power.
In all events I was impressed with several things 1 comes with a functiong bit. 2 the heads were resistant to stripping out. 3 the ease of which each screw passes through the wood and grounds the meeting wood pieces to each other. Creating a firm fastening capable of being walked on without pulling out.

These are currently my go-to hardware for anything I’m building which requires a reliable fastener! I’ve used these mainly in building cedar planter boxes (Western Redwood and Alaskan Yellow), the sharp pointed tips easily set into the soft wood grain and definitely helps reduce splitting. Also, these are a breeze to reposition - again, the very sharp, pointed tips help with precision placement and reduce splitting; even when having to reposition a screw very close to the previous spot/screw-hole.
Another bonus: the Star Drive inset doesn’t strip as easily as the lessor products and the little “teeth” on the underside of the bugle-head help to set the screw flush without risking tear out!

Best enginered screw I have ever used. With my eletric drill, these screws plunged strait in pressuer treated 4X4 and into the adjasent 4X4 with a countersink of about 3/4 of an inch. Made fast work reinforcing my privacy fence.

I use 2 1/2" screws pretty often to attach 1" rough cedar planks to 2x4 frames for building small structures for a non-profit organization. Having a larger head (#10) is a plus and so is the fact this item is a multi-purpose screw. No doubt the hex head pretty much eliminates stripping and the thread design reduces the chances of splitting; requires less torque than a regular thread and has an 'easy start' tip. The thread design also makes a clean hole with no tear out and is easy to countersink.

I have been looking for a general purpose screws because I have to be mobile and my toolbox for screws is at capacity. As indicated this screw has a star drive head so stripping is not an issue plus the thread design promotes an easy start; no splitting and a low torque installation. The 3 1/8" length can be a problem sometimes if you are putting two 2x4s together because the tip of the screw will protrude from the back which can be a safety issue in certain situations. Including a star bit in the package is a nice touch.

This is a great set of screws for outside projects (including treated lumber). The driving bit is provided in the pack, so no worries about running to HD to get one (T-25 bit).
These screws do not require pre-drilling, but have a great tip that drives with "easy start."
The pack includes 80 screws. Made in USA (!!!).
Approved by Building Codes for usage and can be utilized for quite a few materials (metal, wood, cement boards, plastic, etc.).
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for strong shear load applications!!!

OK, I'll admit it - I am a GRK junkie! I would not install a cabinet with anything else. I cringe when I see cabinets installed with drywall screws - Don't do it! And yes a lot of cabinets have been installed that way. But it will only take 1 failure for you to kick yourself up and down about not using the right fasteners. I picked these up to install some custom office floor and wall cabinets. And I will be confident that those cabinets will stay where I put them. And if I ever want to take them down, I know I can unscrew them without the screw snapping. You want to install a wall hung vanity - use a GRK fastener. I use the GRK fin-trims to assemble and install door jambs. install box beams etc. No pre-drilling, super strong - really great product. Once you start using them - you will be convinced. They can take your woodworking to a whole new level.

When I showed these to my cabinet installer, he said, "Oh, you got the good ones, huh?" Apparently professionals know :-). I mean, when you consider how much is in the cabinets you're hanging, who wouldn't want an easy install with quality fasteners? How times have changed since the lowly flat-head screw! I prefer square drive, but Torx (star) is right behind that for grip and easy-starting. These bite easy with the split tip and fly in fast. After you buy a few boxes, you have an automatic extra stash of bits for when it finally gets too rounded to still work well, plus the snap-close little containers for your little shop clutter. The cut thread for lower-installation torque…meh…for electric drills that's meaningless, everyone has multiple cordless batteries, and I bet the difference is almost immeasurable. I can't attest to the "no splitting" CEE Thread, but it must have some merit or they couldn't make the claim without risking a class-action lawsuit, right? Any bugle-head screw is good at splitting wood, based on several different factors; know your screw, know your wood, and stop driving it in too far--you should be good!

Got these just in time. the 3-1/8 in screws were perfect for building the framework for my new privacy fence . The star drive bugle head really made them easy to use with my power drill and they went into the lumber really easy and were of great use in completing my project. I like the brass finish as they should not rust or bleed through the stain on the wood when completed on the fence either.

Plans on making a beefy coffee table and these will do nicely. My woodworking sources suggest using wood screws that are twice the thickness of what you are screwing through. In this case 1.25 inch table top into 1 x 3 framing. The tip is sharp, the top of the screw shank is smooth which allows the screw to not grip the top lumber and pull the top down into the framing. The bugle head also shaves into the layer and acts as a counter sink. I will be buying more variety of GRK wood screws in the future.

I really like these screws and consider them to be well worth the extra money. The star drive tip never slips or comes out of the screw while it is being driven, nor does the screw head ever become damaged or stripped. This is a wonderful thing after a lifetime of struggling with phillips head screws. Note that you do not have to press down with all your might to keep the tip engaged as you often do with phillips head screws; you just hold the drill and let the screw do most of the work.
