This is a great appliance. It is the first I have seen that combines a regular oven, microwave, and convection oven. With the addition of the supplied racks, it also functions as an air-fryer. Air-fryers are all the rage right now, but they are really little more than a convection oven with a raised rack that allows the hot air to circulate underneath the food.
The advantage of a dedicated air-fryer is speed. A small air-fryer will typically cook in about half the time of a convection oven. Or, to put it differently, this "air-fryer" takes about twice as long as my dedicated one. Toasting also seems to take somewhat longer than a dedicated toaster. However, in both cases, the result is better - both the toaster and the air-fryer are prone to burning things, while this oven so far has given perfect results with no attention.
The controls for this oven are all on the door. With so many devices built into one, I had to crack the manual to get started, but it soon became second nature. The big 'volume' knob is nice, you set all the times and temperatures with it. It has many common presets, listed inside the door. Loss of power causes the clock to reset - some things never change. At least that is easy to fix with the big knob.
As far as I can tell, you cannot run the microwave and the heating elements at the same time - it is one or the other. As you can see in the photo, you can fit a tall coffee mug inside, mine is about 7 inches. You can also see the black bar that runs across the bottom of the unit flush against the countertop. This is clearly to keep crumbs from going underneath - a nice touch.
Complaints? None yet. This unit does a good enough job of replacing several appliances, in slightly more than the space of my old microwave. It does require some free space on either side, especially for the door to swing. I have already retired my microwave and convection oven, and will probably do the same with the air-fryer and toaster.
Galanz is a new name to me. Of course, made in China, but appears to be good quality all over. Time will tell, but for these Seeds reviews, long-term testing is not possible.
Looks Great, Lots of Features, Nice Design
