I have used quite a few insulated staples for NM cable over the years and these staples are the worst ever, especially in old harder wood. They bend out of shape very easily and have to be gingerly pounded to keep them from deforming. The coating deflects hammer blows to add to the problem of pounding them in straight and the soft PVC coating cannot stand up to the number of blows necessary to seat it in old harder wood. They look like a great idea but they are garbage. Use the ones with the blue poly insulator, work much much better.

softy...
the metal in this staples are so soft that one blow with the hammer and it goes the wrong way and bended in the middle. I will not recommend this product to anybody.

these work good
I really like that these staples are insulated. Just another precaution.
