I thought it might be a bit more definitive in terms of moisture detection, but it is adequate.

Extremely accurate and easy to use tool

This is a good moisture meter for the money. It's a little fragile. Don't drop it.

I chose this product due to the dual moisture sensing options (non-contact and pin modes). The photo shows the unit displaying a moisture percentage with the lid closed (non contact mode). However, it reality, the non-contact mode only shows the colored led wet-dry lights. In order to get a moisture percentage, you have to flip the lid and insert the pins into the material (wall, wood, etc). I wouldn't complain about the misleading advertising if it actually worked. I found that the contact mode doesn't work about half the time. Sometimes, I can open and reclose the lid to get it working (presumably there's a sensor for mode change), but it simply doesn't work reliably enough to rely on.

It hasn't turned on yet. Tried two different batteries. Plan on returning it.

Pinless part is terrible, not even close to what the pins read. Not good!

Durable and easy use. The pins are replaceable which is definitely a good thing given I already bent the 1st set. It's accurate enough for the price (2%).

No quantified output, just bars. Not very helpful

Pinless option is useless, says even dry stuff is wet

The readings change within seconds of retesting an area. I repeatedly had different numbers in the same location merely seconds after my initial test. I will be returning this the next time I go to Home Depot.

I purchased this tool prior to a home visit for potential purchase. The home had prior water damage. I found it very useful to inspect components of the home

Seems to work as intended thus far. Used mainly for checking the moisture content in split firewood. Easy to use. Unsure as to how completely accurate as nothing to calibrate it to as of yet.

Cheapy made and not accurate, returned it!

Very sensitive can’t go wrong

Bought this after developing a roof leak last summer. First attempt at roof repair was unsuccessful and “pinless mode” confirmed wet drywall after the next rainfall. Second roof repair seemed like a good one and I was able to track the drywall drying out over the next couple of weeks using the pins, and it stayed dry after a big storm. Saved me a nasty drywall repair on a vaulted ceiling. Now I’m tracking a small plumbing repair in my bathroom hidden behind a baseboard. Easy to use product.

Had some water come into our basement during a recent rainstorm and some drywall and vinyl plank flooring got wet. Just put the battery in, turn it on (defaults to drywall) and touch to the surface you want to test. Can use prongs for percentage.
