I bought this as the standard 5 year life replacement for a Gentex system that has given me no trouble during that time compared to the standard big box brands that were giving random false alarms for absolutely no rhyme or reason.

Have used Gentex for years in a commercial facility. We purchased these as a companion for use with other Gentex alarm products. Have always found the units to be of high quality.

Easy to install, fit right on the existing box. Instructions easy to follow. Uses 9v battery for backup

This was a simple replacement ... out of the box there was nothing I had to do except for add the included 9 volt battery, plug in the unit, and perform the recommended test ... I wish every product I purchase would be this easy. As an aside, I am very impressed in general with the quality and performance of Gentex products.
