Runs quiet and the hepa filter seems to be working nicely. Doesn't work to reduce fresh paint smell though.

The purifier is not great at removing odors

After reading many expert and consumer reviews, and browsing in store, I selected this GermGuardian model from homedepot.com. The incredibly quiet fan, the ability to adjust the fan speed, digital control panel and modern design were key factors in my selection. I love the difference it's made in air quality in my home! Huge improvement. I live in a 1940s house with no insulation and a 20-year old HVAC system. Plus, I live in a region with a lot of foliage and humidity. We have two adults and one cat living in the house. After only a couple of days of running the air filtering machine, the pervasive musty odor was gone. Cooking odors (garlic, bacon, etc) can linger in house for a day or more, but not anymore. Traces of cooking odors are gone within a couple of hours of running the machine. An unexpected bonus is that because the air is cleaner, the buildup of moisture on windows during high humidity spells has been mostly eliminated. It has a handle on the top which makes it easy to move around house. Overall, I'm so thrilled and pleased with this machine.
