Good idea if it only worked. The rods will not stay in place. If I had not already installed it I would have returned it. The picture shows how I fixed the problem.

Saved the huge plumbers bill by doing it myself. I bought the metal one first and ruined it,so bought the plastic one at 2/4th the cost to replace the part that closes the stopper. Had to invent a special wrench to tighten the large rubber nut that tightens against the drain ring as I was putting it into a pedestal sink. All existing plumbers wrenches handled were way too long. (Photo attached). I think it could have been hand tightened, but at 85 my hands were not strong enough!

Headache but got it to work
What a headache to install. I felt like the instructions left out some key parts to help with installation. After watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWFtUAJOV_I I was able to figure it out. I realized that you screw the ball joint assembly in on its own first and attach the stopper. THEN you attach the plastic/rubber piece that slides over the drop pin. In my case that plastic piece was too long. I cut it back with a utility knife so that it was short enough to attach to the ball joint rod while the stopper was in the plugged position. Worked just fine after that. I also threw down some extra caulk underneath the flange and also between the gasket and the underside of the sink. No leakage. I attached some photos so hopefully it helps someone out some day. Overall, I would’ve probably gotten a more traditional assembly had I knohwn how much of a headache this would’ve been, but it does the trick if you have the patience.

I should have read the reviews before buying
I tried to modify the protect, combine with parts from the previous assembly and it still won't come together. This doesn't fit with Glacier Bay Drain Trim kit. The stopper doesn't seat into the trim and the rubber lever, although very rigid, flexes too much to seat the stopper and also forces it back open since you can't get enough force to close it. I'm going back for the ugly white flexible drain assembly and hope that works better.

Useless and completely non-functional. Not really any easier or more difficult to install than any other drain body, with the exception of the ridiculous flexible plastic drain actuating assembly. And then, after all the assembly was complete, the plastic nubbin on the end of the actuator rod was not even close to long enough to make contact with the stopper linkage. It didn't even extend 1/4 of the way into the drain. I wasted a 3-hour round-trip to the nearest Home Depot, plus about an hour of frustrating installation time.

poorly manufactured
I've probably installer at least 20 drain bodies in the past year...The rear lever cap/bolt is larger then the threads on the spindle. The results is it leaks. the metal downspout is loose inside the metal drain throat. It leaks. I shouldn't have to use Teflon tape to fix these items. Yes the nylon, lever bushing is in correctly.

Average drain with weird drain pulley system. The drain topper does not completely seal so you have to push it down with your finger. The pull rod should be able to to this but it doesn't.

It keeps leaking had to use valve from the old one…this is why it was on clearance. Also water seems to sit around the drain.

I have bought this before and was pleased with it. like the way rubber is used as the connector. glad Home Depot continues to stock this item.

The push down plug system is useless because it is made of very weak plastic. The lever that moves the plug up and down pops out of the holder attached to the back of the drain if it is too tight, but when loosened, it leaks from where it is connected to the drain pipe. Total waste of money.

Poor design
Poor design. The standard metal pull drain works much better. The rubber connection to the drain lift underneath the sink, is not a good design.

What a piece of junk.
Would have worked other than the super flimsy stopper design that uses some sort of rubber/plastic thing to raise and lower the stopper. The drain itself works, but the stopper design is basically unusable.

Biggest piece of junk I can remember buying in long time
No matter how simple the part, always read the reviews which would have saved me a bunch of time. I wasted hours installing and reinstalling this product and trying to eliminate the leaks. And the lever linkage is the dumbest solution to an issue I think I have ever seen.

The body is brass, but the flange on the basin side is plastic. I had a leak when I first installed it, so I tightened the main nut, and of course the plastic part broke. Also, the stopper lever arm is plastic and bends easily. The one-piece plastic assembly connecting the stopper lever arm to the vertical rod is innovative, but there is no easy way to connect it securely to the old lift rod that I want to keep so it matches the other sink. Absolute junk. It's amazing that HD apparently doesn't bother to read these reviews and put a better product on the shelves.

Plastic junk
Cheap junk. You cannot tighten the drain enough to prevent leaking because the plastic threads just strip. Had to return for a different kind.

Horrible product
This is the worst plumbing product I've ever come across. Purchased 2 for double sink vanity. Neither lever rod nut would seat properly. I think one was a home depot returns as the threading on the pivot ball cavity was bent. Linkage is terrible design

Not too good. The drain is metal, but the nut on the bottom is plastic. When tightening the nut it started slipping. I could not get it tight enough so it didn’t leak. I ended up buying one on line with a brass nut.

Linkage Arm & Lever Rod Do Not Work
I purchased the Glacier Bay Drain Body and Trim kits to replace a Pop-Up drain in which the Lever rod was rusted and about to fail.
This assembly did not function properly in my application.
After assembly and installation and after multiple attempts at adjustment, the only way I could make the Pop-Up work was by reaching under the bowl and manually manipulating the lever rod.
The tab that is supposed to hold the Stopper in position also broke off during one of my attempts at adjustment.
In addition, the size of the ball and socket on the Lever rod are not standard, so a Lever rod kit I found at another home products store could not be adapted to function with the Drain Body kit.
I had to order a different version of the entire Pop-Up drain kit, wait a week for delivery and then install it using the Lift Rod from my old drain assembly.
I'd definitely not buy this item.

The drain body is nice and sturdy. Very easy to install. The drain plug assembly, however, comes apart quite easily with a good pull of the handle bit.
