This is a curved shower rod that allows for up to 11 inches of additional shower space at its maximum length (72 inches). Depending on the width of your shower space and the length you adjust the rod to, your curve may allow for up to 6 additional inches of shower space, and therefor extend 6 inches away from the tub. Under our color standards, this rod does have a brushed nickel finish; unfortunately, not all finishes from different companies look the same. To ensure you are getting the exact same finish, it is best to buy all the fixtures and accessories from the same company. This product is made of aluminum material which doesn't contain iron or steel; therefore is not subject to rust. There could be a possibility you may have purchased a different model. If you wouldn't mind contacting the manufacturer's Customer Service Team at 1-800-892-3986 to address this issue, I'm sure they would love the opportunity to offer a resolution.

This rod is made from strong and lightweight aluminum that is guaranteed for life against rust. We create installation instructions so that we can guarantee proper installation. Of course, every bathroom space is different. Some may have tile, drywall, etc. so we cannot guarantee that each individual will be able to permanently mount this shower rod on a drywall portion of their bathroom.
