I had bought one of these last year as a Christmas gift for my s/o. We both loved it so much we got one again this Christmas! Now one is in our bedroom and one is in our living room so we do not have to keep bringing one with us as we change rooms. We use it as our alarm clock (you can set multiple alarms), as a timer when cooking, to set background music while working, to ask general questions when we want to see who is right about something, to listen to podcasts and music while cleaning, and we also both love learning about "The Animal of the Day" even though we are both in our 20s, haha. We don't have all the fancy lightbulbs to be able to control the lights and such, but I am sure that works just as well as everything else. Setup takes some knowledge with apps, so if you are getting this for someone not gifted with tech-y skills, you may want to give them a hand with setup. After that, though, everything is voice controlled, so anyone should have an easy time using it. :) Only thing that I noticed was that the cord is white while the Google Nest itself is charcoal grey. Nothing but aesthetics, but I wished the cord was grey to match the Nest.
Love it, works great. I use it, at the kitchen, on top of the entrance for best sound.

We have at least 7 throughout our home . I would definitely recommend getting this for each bedro...

We have at least 7 throughout our home . I would definitely recommend getting this for each bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc. They are awesome! When I am about to come home I can broadcast and have the family come out to help bring in groceries, etc. The kids can call if they need to from this device. There are soooo many uses for a Google mini in your home!

The sound quality is better than the original google home mini, which I also have. Works great, and makes it so easy to listen to music anywhere anytime.
