I bought two reels through Home Depot online, for the 7-year warranty and brass connections. Be aware that all important load-bearing parts and the reel are made of plastic. Assembly instructions could be clearer. The plastic is soft, so assembly on concrete will mar them. The handles are too low for me at 6'2" but work better for my 5'1" wife. The lower tray snaps on. Screws to hold it on would be nice. I am hanging on to my receipt and warranty because I have doubts the plastic will hold up.

Poor quality control on the parts. First I had to cut a little plastic so the piping would line up. Once I was past that hurdle I found the handle’s nut and large specialty bolt had bad threads. What a waste of time. Back to HD.

I was really excited about this product after reading all the reviews. But I think I must have got a defected product. The back metal piping doesn’t easily flush into the hole as needed and seems like a design flaw for the one I received

I own two of these hose reels for use with 100 foot Teknor Apex Zero-G hoses. The pair together work exceptionally well. Highly recommended hose reel.

Holy bananas this thing is well made. Perhaps it’s just because I’m used to the cheap plastic ones but my god the brand really deserves to take pride in their design here. The actual plumbing is all metal, and you know it even looks good! I was immediately so happy with the product I went right back to Home Depot and bought the other 2 on the shelf for my other hoses before someone else snagged them. My only suggestion is that they make the box more yellow so I would have noticed it better.

I’ve finally enough of my plastic piece of sh$t hose reel and spent the money on this gorilla reel. I have another plastic crap one in my front yard too that I’ll likely replace with a Gorilla. My wife, who was fed up with the kinking and snagging of the plastic one said “OMG like butter. Thank you”! It’s built like a tank with quality brass fittings. No complaints. Yeah a bit pricey but we’ll worth it.

I had about 150 feet of heavy hose wound up on my deck. A long time ago, I had purchased a plastic hose reel and it was never used because it was too flimsy. I saw this and liked the metal design and thought that it might work. Very easy to put together. Everything was provided to put it together. No extra tools were needed. I was able to take the whole 150 feet of hose with some room to spare. When I first started to roll the hose on the reel, the hose did not have water pressure in it and I noticed that as I was reeling it on, the weight of the hose was flattening the hose. I thought this would restrict the water flow too much since I would probably not unreel all of the hose. I started again with the water turned on and holding pressure in the hose as I reeled it in. This kept the hose inflated and not crushed flat by the weight. I kept the hose stretched out to reduce the curling of the hose as it would up for the first time. This worked fine and was not that hard to wind up. I did notice that since this was a heavy hose and fairly stiff, that when pulled out, the hose reel had a tendency to drag/slide with it. To fix this the front plastic feet pads had enough room to drill a hole (1/4 ") through each and into the wood deck. I dropped a bolt through the holes and into the deck. This keeps the reel from sliding and the bolts can be lifted out if I have to move the reel. The reel appears to be solid and of good material and design. The adapter from the water supply to the hose appears to be well made of brass and did not leak. Would recommend this over the cheaper plastic ones any day.

Build quality is excellent and I expect this to last many years. This unit is only marginally more expensive than all plastic hose reels. Took 10 minutes to assemble, recommend this highly. I’ll likely buy another for the front yard.

Tough, sturdy. Clearly well thought out including the kind of tape used on the sales labeling (sticky but easily removed and no residue). Loving the new Gorilla line expansion into other products. The fittings are great, even work with heavy duty commercial hose. Easy to assemble.

Good quality, expensive but was hoping this would be my last. Unfortunately after only a few months, the reel ( which came pre assembled) has starting coming apart. I will have to disassemble the entire thing to get to the screws. Also, doesn’t hold the length of hose advertised very easily.

Where you tie in there is no flexibility for your hose fitting. Mine “barely” fit and it was after I sat this in the sun so I could get a little flex in the plastic. I muscled it on with a wrench and now works great. I have no worries that this will last a long time. I used this for my 100’ hose and it worked well. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to make the handle longer for moving around! I’m 5’-9” and I find it short. Use Teflon and do it right!

BEEFY NON-RUST ALUMINUM/BRASS NON-RUST HOSE REEL

This is the best hose reel I have ever had. It glides smoothly. It is made extremely well. It is easy to put together. I should get many years of use out of this one. No more terribly annoying, cheap, plastic hose reels. Its great!

Nice cart, but with 1 major flaw. When I tried to connect my garden hose to the reel, it's impossible to connect it. The female hose connector is aimed right at the side of hose reel, so the hose must bend within the first 1.75 inches, or else the hose hits the side of the hose reel. I'm using a heavy-duty hose with a very rigid connector which does not bend within 1.75 inches of the end of the hose, so it's IMPOSSIBLE TO CONNECT to this cart. After paying $150 for the cart, now I'm supposed to pay another $20 for a special connector hose? Give me a break, this is a wicked stupid design!

The cart is great! This is kinda my second one as previously I had purchased the $149 and liked it so much, I got this for the other faucet. The one odd thing is although the 6 foot hose is high quality, the plastic sleeve thingy (see pictures) is octagon shape while the fitting on the hose is hexagon shape. I thought the idea of the plastic sleeve was to make it easier to turn, however the octagon doesn’t fit over the hexagon. The cart is fantastic. Hose 98% great.

Mobility: Note that the title says, “Mobile Hose Reel”, but you do not find mobility listed in the features. That is because, if you assemble it as instructed, it is not mobile. You can attempt to push the handle down to raise the front feet a few inches, but you will be applying a down force greater than the weight of the loaded reel, and that additional load on the wheels makes it very difficult to roll the wheels on turf. This is like trying to move a wheelbarrow that has the handles installed on the wheel end instead of the leg end. The solution is to install the handle where the hose guide is supposed to be installed. Now with the handle you lift less about 1/3 the weight of the loaded hose reel, and that amount of the weight is removed from the wheels, so the cart rolls easily. The system now functions like a properly assembled wheelbarrow! With some effort, you can modify the hose guide and install it onto the handle using new aluminum pop-rivets. Assembly Assembling the reel is much easier if you have a 4mm hex bit and an appropriate driver or holder for your drill-driver. If you use the drill-driver use a very low torque setting. You will tire of using the suppled 4mm allen wrench very quickly.

While putting this together, I several times thought "this thing is going to outlive me", it's extremely sturdy and the parts are all good quality. This is the first non-adhesive product I've got from Gorilla, and it's just as good quality as their glue, so thanks for not making one good product then slapping your name on a bunch of duds. It's an industrial look, the only thing I wouldn't recommend it for is if you're looking for something "pretty", that's always subjective but this probably isn't it. I've had this for several months now, sun beating down on it at least 8 hours a day, it has not experienced any damage or fading.

What I like most about this hose reel is the versatility of it. Everyone has different needs and finding the perfect solution for your garden hose is challenging. You might want mobility, a hose system that doesn't burst, kink or leak and also one that will last for a long while. I've tested so many hoses, reels, quick connects and finally found what meets all my needs. It all starts with this Gorilla hose reel. I’ve added 2 more wheels and I use chocks to set my reel in position. Don't think the 200 feet is a limit. I can go far past 200 feet with quick connects.The way I have it setup is, I can bring this cart in and out of my house without dripping any water everywhere even when the hoses are full of water. I love this hose reel.

Good heavy duty construction but the design is flawed. Needed to modify the reel to get the hose on.

We upgraded our Hose Reel to aluminum after the old Suncast Hosemobile finally broke in half (after about 10 years of service). This hose reel/winder really works well. It easily winds up heavy duty 5/8 inch rubber hose. We especially like the BIG CRANK which makes it easy to spin the reel/winder. We also like the hose guide which you can operate without getting your hands all Dirty from the mud and dirt on your hose. Easy to assemble you just need one hex wrench (included) or hex sockets (which we already had from working on cars). The bottom tray will not stay on. We had to drill a 7/32 inch hole in a non-structural part of the tray to make a path for a beefy Zip Tie. We would have thrown the tray away, but, it looks like it is structural part , so, we zip tied it in place instead. The only reason it gets a 4 is because we had to perform the Zip Tie fix. Perhaps the Manufacturer will start including 4 Zip Ties with the assembly kit?

My dollars should be refunded. I do not reccommend this product

The only problem I have with the real is that the handle is too short. You have to been over to move it around, and with me being a tall person it’s sort of awkward. I chose to order a piece of 1 1/4 outside diameter aluminum tube and ordered an extra handle. I took the extra handle and using the two pieces of 1 1/4 inch tubing to extend the handle (see photos).

I only gave this product a 4 because of the handle being just to dang short for a tall person. You have to bend over to lug it around. I solved my problem by purchasing an additional handle, then taking the parts and using them to extend my original handle.

I really wanted to give this product 5 stars. Well made, goes together easily, stainless steel hardware. Hose fittings are beefy and don't leak. I have 150 feet of hose on the reel and it will take more. But the plastic bushings for holding the wheels in place are totally inadequate. I spent over 20 minutes lining them up perfectly like the directions indicate. Push them in and they pop right out with any pressure on the wheels. Yes, there is a little button that has to fit in the cutout but it still doesn't stay put. For $140 the manufacturer could have put a little more effort into this component. I will be on the phone Monday morning with customer service to see if they have a solution.

I like it. Seems really sturdy. Works smoothly. I don’t have to get my hands dirty reeling it back in, but I can also control where the guide is guiding to. It stays put. Worth the money.

200ft version is a really well designed / Engineered product. However - A few folks have problems with the wheel locking mechanism and wheels loosening or falling off? Step 4 within the installation sheet would probably solve this if paid attention to? There are two divots on the axel tube. After removing the stickers from the yellow capture devices you must line up the dimples on the yellow with the divots in the shaft when inserting. If correctly lined up you should hear a click and the wheel will be captured. If you missed slightly, use the wheel to slightly extract the capture plug and line up and try again. It does work in the end and the wheels will not walk out. Another issue is with the hose clamp feature. Pay attention to this at step 9. Feed your hose through the guide and use a crescent wrench to attach hose end fitting to the brass extension on the reel. Then remove the wing nut from the outside of the reel, remove the bracket and bolt. Separate and place hose clamp over the hose as installed orientation and reinstall bolt and affix to reel as originally provided. No need for prying the clamp open to get the hose end fitting through? I did only make 1 mod with this device in that I zip tied the lead in hose to the front leg to prevent it from turning... Hope all are happy with their purchase in the end as I have been!

This is a great reel. I have had some of the plastic reels that are out there, but they are so light that reeling in the hose lifts the reel off the ground making the reeling jerky and hard to do. This little reel does the job it's suppose to do without being cumbersome. Pull the hose out use it and reel it back in. Will probably last forever and a day.

I like two large wheels over a four wheel cart. The two wheel design is easier to move across my sloping lawn. My only issue… After finishing the assembly, I realized that the tubing was installed into the wrong spokes of the hose reel hub. Gorilla should make that assembly item clearer. (See attachment.)

I purchased two and one is perfect. It was simple to put together, very sturdy and it definitely met my expectations. The second one had mis-punched the positions on the aluminum base where the wheels are supposed to be attached. This caused one end to be too long to attach a wheel (it made an awful racket if you did) and the other end too short to attach a wheel.
