I love that this is rechargeable and filterless so no additional expense is required to continue to use this product. I like that is supposed to kill bacteria and remove gases and odors from decaying food to keep my refrigerator fresher than ever. I have had this in my refrigerator for about two and a half weeks now and it is still going without having to charge it so the battery is working well. Since I have a newer refrigerator that has an air filter, I haven't noticed a big difference in the freshness smell of my fridge but figured it can't hurt to try this.

The Filterless Air Purifier for the Refrigerator with Rechargeable Battery is a clever little device that fits easily into my refrigerator and takes no more space than a small jar of jelly. The device is made by GreenTech Environmental who makes a number of air purifiers based on similar principles. This is really a tiny ozone generator. The smell is distinctive though not unpleasant. It really does make your refrigerator smell fresher and better. We keep our refrigerator fairly clean anyway. So, I thought I would challenge the air purifier in a place I know is smelly. That is our dishwasher after waiting a day to run. Amazing. It even clears up that smell. I am impressed.

This air purifier looks much nicer and uses less space than a box of baking soda in the refrigerator and it works great! I was surprised by how well it kept my refrigerator smelling clean and fresh. I use plenty of garlic when cooking, so it is sometimes difficult to avoid that odor. However, after 10 days of use, I detect no unpleasant odors when I open the door. As I sometimes do, I forgot that I had a cucumber in the vegetable drawer. I usually would have smelled something that was in such bad shape, but I did not because the odor did not affect the air. The oxygen and ionization of the air does help purify and sanitize the air. A micro usb charging cord is included (it is about 30" long) and each charge should last about 18-24 days. The status light blinks green when it is working but it shuts off after a while inside the refrigerator to preserve battery life (yes, it really does!). The status light will turn red and the unit will beep when it requires charging, so there is no guessing about battery life. It has non-slip feet on the bottom. The recommended maintenance is every 6 months. Wipe with a damp cloth, vacuum the top and back air intakes, then clean them with alcohol on cotton swabs.

This is a great little gizmo for the fridge and after two weeks of use, ive noticed salad and produce lasting longer as well as no smell. It is better than having the ol' box of baking soda in the fridge. Its small and takes up little room (see pictures). Directions are simple, it needs to charge for about 4 hours then turn it on and hide in the fridge. If you hold it close to your ear, you can hear a fan spinning but not when its in the fridge. A flashing green light lets you know its charged and working. A red light lets you know the battery is dead. The filter is easy to be clean and has to be done a few times a year. The charge lasts about 2-3 weeks which is good considering batteries dont last as long in cold environments. It takes up such little room but makes your fridge operate much better! The only downside is the charging cord is another I have to store. It plugs into any USB like your phone charger.

I was surprised when I opened the box to see such a compact little unit measuring about 3 by 4 inches. This is NOT an Air Filter but an Ionizer which reduces particulates in your refrigerator by the Ions attaching to the particulates, neutralizing them and dropping them out of the Air. I've had this in my 24 cubic foot refrigerator, top shelf in the back for over a week. I am pleasantly surprised by the removal of all smells from the Fridge. It actually smells clean rather than smelling foods, onions, etc. The Unit operates via a Lithium Ion battery charged by a USB port. The initial charging took a little over 8 hours. According to the Manufacturer, the battery will last 18 to 24 days. It will blink Red when charging is need. 4 to 6 hours in the charger and its done.

Really cool and innovative product. Never knew this existed until now. Always used the normal baking soda boxes that work for a few days and then you forget about it until the odors hit you in the face when you open the door. This is totally different and state of the art. It’s super small which I like so it’s not stealing space. You can place it anywhere you want. Just takes an initial usb charge to get started, not sure yet how long it lasts-supposed to ring/alarm when it needs recharging. Simple enough and so far it seems to be keeping the odors away, especially raw onion which is so strong. I haven’t smelled the onion or anything so believe it is doing a great job. It also has this cute little green light on it that blinks. Supposedly the light goes out when the door is closed (to save the battery) guess I’ll have to trust that it does. A must need for everyone’s fridge.

Works really well no smells in the fridge

I been using it for two weeks now and it works well. We sometimes keep kimchee in our refrigerator, which has a strong garlic smell. this actually keeps the oder down. happy i bought it

It’s a good purifier. Just one star missing because of the alarm. It’s a chargeable battery purifier. But once the battery is low, it makes a loud smoke detector sound. Other than that it’s good so the refrigerator doesn’t stink.

The unit replaces another air purifier for a refrigerator. Any prior unit I have had needed 4 "C" batteries to operate. They were OK, but eventually the LCD readout on the unit fried along with the LED indicator light, plus it was a pain to keep replacing it with batteries. This unit has a green light in front telling you it is working, and when it starts to fizz out, you hear a constant beep, and the green light turns to a flashing red light. You just take the unit out of the fridge and plug it into a USB port with the included cable. The light turns back to green when it is fully charged. There are some minor cleaning instructions included to keep the unit working properly. I have a lot of stuff in the fridge, but no odors at all when I open the door. This unit is, in my opinion, a must buy. Forget the box of baking soda too. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

This is a terrific refrigerator air purifier. I've had mine in the refrigerator for about 3 weeks now and I do not notice any odors at all. Out of the box you charge this unit for about 8 hours using the included USB plug. The charge is suppose to last about 3 weeks. Mine is proving that to be accurate. After the initial charge it's only suppose to take 4-6 hours to charge. It's a small attractive unit about 3.25" tall and about 2" in diameter. There's a flashing green light to let you know it's working but there's apparently an audible alarm when you open the refrigerator if the battery has run down. Mine hasn't run down yet. The package labeling claims to extend food life. That's hard for me to verify since I'd have to do an actual test with similar food over a period of time but I will say that the fruits and vegetables I have seem to have been around awhile and they still appear fresh.The claim comes from the fact that this unit removes gases that decay food. That makes sense, since if you don't keep apples seperate from other produce the gas apples give off will speed the decay of the other produce. The included brochure describes precisely how to clean the unit (after approximatley 6 months). The procedure is simple. All in all, I think this is a great product and convenient since when it's life runs out all I need to do is recharge it and it will tell me when it runs out. I don't have to make a point of keeping track of that..

This is a really great idea, a device about the same size as a baking soda container you put in the fridge, but this charges in a few hours and last weeks at a time. It has a green blinking light on it just like the picture shows so you know it is working. It is very quiet and it does a great job with odors in the refrigerator and freezer. We have had no smells since using them and the charging battery instead of a AA or AAA is great. The cord needs to be plugged into a USB power jack, as it does not come with the power block, just the cord and device.

I have been waiting and now there is a filter less fridge purifier/sanitizer. It also uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery via a USB port. It is very compact, not like the current purifier I am using , while small but uses four "D" batteries which can get expensive, even if you use rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries you need to buy a charger. This unit produces OZONE (O3) which basically neutralizes the ethylene gas given off by mostly produce. It will also neutralize odors. It even tells you when to re-charge it. You can put it anywhere in the fridge but I think the best is up high towards the back where the ozone can be pulled and re-circulated thru the whole fridge. I believe over time this will pay for it's self. And yes, if you keep it charged, it really works.

WOW!! This refrigerator air purifier sure works fast!!! Got it, charged it, put in in the fridge and the next day we could tell there was a huge difference and the odor wasn't as strong. 2 days later no odors!! Wish I had known about this item before! Easy to charge up, just plug it into your computer or USB wall charger. Didn't take long to charge. Nice size, doesn't take up too much room, bright green light flashes to show it's working. Good choice!

Being the sceptical kind of guy, I had my doubts about the effectiveness of an air purifier , especially so small of a unit in a refrigerator. But I am very happy to say this really does work. Keeps the fridge smelling fresh and clean even when we put leftover spaghetti sauce loaded with my wife's favorite garlic in it. Oh it takes it a bit to clear out that smell but it does take care of it rather well. I cant wait to see how it does on the longevity of fresh produce when we restock. I totally feel this is worth the investment and it really couldn't be simpler to use.

Since using this product I have not noticed any smells in the refrigerator. I don't see much of a different between the box fresheners and this product.

The unit is compact, attractive and still has not required recharging. It seems to work just as advertised....very impressive! Will definitely get another one for second fridge.

Whether it's onions, take out leftover or what, this little machine keeps the air in the fridge odor free. Has li-ion batteries that are easy to recharge with the included cable and the charge lasts several weeks.

This little purifier is great at eliminating odors. When I buy a rotisserie chicken from the store it usually stinks up the whole fridge until I toss it. This purifier was able to eliminate that odor so I didn't have to get a whiff of it each time I opened the door. As for extending food life, I've found that my apples last longer as does my salad mix. I keep a paper towel in with my salad mix to absorb some of the moisture even with the purifier in the fridge. I love that the unit is small and that it's rechargeable! It says it might take up to 8 hours to charge during the first charge. Mine took about 6. After that, it says it should take 4-6 hours and will last 3 weeks before needing to be charged again. I'm almost at 3 weeks so it should be signaling me soon to charge. It has an audible alarm and the LED indicator will activate to notify you it's time to recharge. It provides 5 minutes of sterilization and deodorization every hour. Activated oxygen and negative charges are propelled into the fridge to destroy odors and other things. This is much more effective than anything else I've used, especially the old school box of baking soda.

Im on the fence with this,with a brand new whirlpool French door refrig I might not notice this as I would with an older refrig with door seals that aren't as tight as they used to be.The refrig smell fresh when you open the doors and if I had had it a loongerr time before I got this might be better able to determine if its the effcts of the purifier.

I have only started using this filter less air purifier in my refrigerator about two weeks ago and it seems to be working just great, no smells at all coming from the refrigerator when opening the door. One thing that I really like about this is that it has a blinking light on it when you open the door, blinking green means that there is plenty of battery power left. The battery fully charged is supposed to last for about three weeks and all that you have to do to recharge is use the cord that is supplied plug one end into unit the other into your computer or other device and the red light will turn to green when fully charged, very easy to do.
