Hello Gary
We're very sorry to read about the experience you've had with your Greenworks Chainsaw. The quality and safety of our units is important to GreenWorks. Please be assured that our units have been thoroughly tested and certified prior to their release. The extension cord, a very important part of any tool’s performance is getting it enough power to run correctly however it is a consideration which is sometimes overlooked. Select cords that are rated to handle the wattage of the devices with which they'll be used. A cord gauge indicates its size: the smaller the number, the larger the wire and the more electrical current the cord can safely handle. Also consider the length you'll need. Longer cords can't handle as much current as shorter cords of the same gauge. For outdoor projects, use only extension cords marked for outdoor use.
When using a power tool at a considerable distance from a power source, be sure to use an extension cord that has the capacity to handle the current the product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in overheating and loss of power. Before using any extension cord, inspect it for loose or exposed wires and cut or worn insulation.
Again, our apologies for the troubles, we hope we can better meet your needs in the future.
