Product was damaged on two delivery efforts. Hardwood Reflections did an excellent job getting me replacements. Their staff is very helpful.

Worst quality control I have seen. Ordered butcher block, had dents and scratches from delivery. Reordered again, has dents and scratches as well as holes on the 'A' side which should be free from such issues. Will not recommend.

Ordered four 8 ft countertops. Three of the four had the shrink wrap compromised. It was torn in multiple spots. One of the four was damaged on the corner and split. The corner caps were damaged on the same board. All four had damaged packaging. Now, HD is showing no more 8 ft sections available for online order.

I was utterly surprised the butcher block was not damaged. The packaging was severely damaged. The top had no visible signs of damage and was for the most part flat and true. I did run it it through a planner and sander to take out any dips and crowns.

Product arrived broken and not usable. The failure along the seam has me questioning the overall quality of the product line.

Not only did this product come to me cracked and a small chuck missing on the clean side it also came in 4 days late. I could of easily ignored the late shipping if product was in good condition. Its a shame this also pushed back my project more than ever expected now

Love the way it looks in the bathroom, we did stain them…but they are gorgeous

Finished beautifully.

We are very impressed with this European Walnut slab. One side had a few small knots, but the other side was completely free of any blemishes. The eased edges needed a bit more easing, and after several rounds of sanding and tung oil, it is really looking great. Would highly recommend.

I was so disappointed when I purchased two of these and cut them when i put sealer on they are two completely different colors of wood. Home Depot Manager would not stand behind their product. My kitchen is unfinished and i wasted money

The natural beauty and variation in a product like this is amazing. We used them to make custom desks and they turned out better than I could have hoped for. Definately would recommend. When you receive them they will look much lighter than expected. We used odies oil to finish them. Again turned out better than expected would definitely recommend

This Hardwood Reflections European Walnut Butcher block made a beautiful top for my freestanding island. Love it! It came to us in perfect condition. We sanded it a little with 220 grit sandpaper then treated it with Dark Half tung oil with a citric solvent from the Milk Paint Company. Most definitely recommend it!

I mainly used Minwax Tung Oil Finish, and a little bit of Helsman Spar Urethane. Applied about 4 coats with the tung oil, and added a little spar urethane to the tung oil on the last 2. Finished using 0000 steel wool saturated with mineral spirits. It feel's literally baby smooth. Awes everyone that rubs their hand on it hahaha.

We used Howard’s mineral oil and it’s beautiful. The wood joints are a great detail. It’s the perfect color when oiled. We used it for shallow cabinets and plan to use the rest for a shelf!

Great product! Sealed with a tung oil blend and it looks and feels fantastic! Be sure to do a light sanding and cleaning before you do anything, as there may be some small imperfections from shipping. Something I didn't know before getting the butcher block, though it says it on the package, is that you'll need to seal or stain it within 4 hours of opening the package. So keep that in mind. Image shows one with a single coat of tung oil, and the other is unfinished for comparison.

After delivery about two weeks ago, I finished it, attached my desk legs to it and as soon as I turn it over to it buckles under its own weight and splits down the seam. Poor Quality! Out $600 from the board, delivery, and finishing materials!

nicely packed, unpacked, cut the top to the desired size, sanded cut edge and other sides with 180 grit. I stained and applied poly, sanding with 220 grit in between. The desk turned out fantastic.

Beautiful just as we thought it would be.

Knots / gaps /splits /nothing square / nothing even / nothing parallel / best guess left over scrap / patched with brown bondo / cabin grade at best

I purchased the 70x39 butcher block planning to cut the width down to 30inches to use as a desk top. Unfortunately my cut exposed a glob of glue they had used to fill a hole in the center of a board and was planning for this to be the front. It wasn’t ideal, but I was able to make this the back of the desk. However, if you’re planning to cut this down and use it as a true island with all sides visible that wouldn’t be good. Overall I was happy with the price and the final outcome was great using general finishes arm-r-seal.

We used this for our Countertop in the Pantry! We love the way it turned out!

I bought this for my sit/stand desktop setup. I bought the 6ft x 25inch piece and had it shipped to the store. It arrived well packed without any issues. The surface was already reasonably well sanded. I just sanded it further with 120 & 220 grit to even out the smooth finish. I coated it with Minwax wipe on poly clear satin finish (applied 6 coats). I liked the natural Walnut color as is, so I didn't use any stain. It was my first wood finishing project. Overall I liked how the finish turned out. No uneven blotches etc. Pretty good product. I might buy another one for my wife.

Terrific butcher block. European Walnut turned out gorgeous in my standing desk build. This block is every bit as quality as the blocks I looked at for twice the price. Highly recommend. The block comes raw and unfinished. I cut it to a width of 32 inches. I then routered the edges with a 1/4 inch round-over bit. I sanded with 60 and then 220 grit. I vacuumed and cleaned it meticulously and then applied 3 coats of Waterlox original sealer.

It's a solid, heavy piece of butcher block, but the surface finish was very poor and there is too much sapwood. I had to sand this extensively to remove the marks from the planer, although the surface was sanded relatively smooth, the planing marks were apparent even without finishing. The high contrast finger joints on the front edge are not very attractive. I used an redish-brown aniline dye, sealed with shellac, then two coats of gel stain to hide the sapwood. Finished with rub-on poly. Happy with the final result, but wish I had sourced a better quality slab.

Ordered to separate pieces. Took 2 weeks when arrived one was obviously very light compared to the other. Was told thats 'how it is.' Had to stain them a lot darker than wanted/planned/changing the entire color scheme in the kitchen to help match. Overall quality was great just not impressed with not matching and when brought to home depot attention they didn't seem to care.

The wood was beautiful. Solid and very well packaged. It was sanded well and needed very little effort to finish.

These countertops were frustrating. The color is not consistent. One piece was half golden and half medium brown. The next piece was dark brown with even some almost black areas. Also, the wood had a few soft rotten spots we had to gouge out and fill with wood filler. We couldn't figure out a match for the walnut, as dark walnut wood fill was way lighter than the spot. We didn't want to stain it because we want a food safe counter. We had to do a TON of sanding, and I ended up leaving some of the deeper indents and gouges because I just got tired. Be aware that there is a "right side" that's smoother and less pitted and dented. The wood is beautiful in and of itself, but the sort of... colorblocking... kind of ruins it for me. If you are going to use ONE piece of this, instead of joining pieces together, I would recommend it. I used a leftover piece to make a floating shelf, and it looks amazing. But, if you are doing a kitchen with 40 square feet of countertop, I would look elsewhere. Aaaaaall the reviews I read were glowing, so I was surprised at the issues we had. As a tip I wish I would have had at the beginning of our DIY remodel fiasco... I soaked nearly a gallon of mineral oil into 40 square feet of this walnt, then used a beeswax/ carnauba wax/ mineral oil product. Water spots and rings were still showing up. Every drop! Then I found OSMO wood finishes. I used their food safe "Top Oil" and it was love at first coat. Well, it took 3 coats, but still! It's an expensive but amazing all natural product for our all natural counters, and you don't have to sand anything to repair or spot treat. If someone had told me about it 3 months ago, I'd have had a lot less work and frustration!!! Happy woodworking!

There was potential as this is a beautiful and solid piece of wood. There is however poor quality control on the piece. See photos attached. Overall, very disappointed.

The color is absolutely beautiful and turned out perfect with my farmhouse sink
