I go through a lot of 9 volt batteries for stud finders, smoke detectors, golf range finders and multi-meters. When you buy them in quantity you save money then when buying them individually or in small packs at the store. This 8 pack is a good price and a large enough quantity where I shouldn't have to re-order for a while as well as having a supply on hand. However, these batteries were just a tiny bit longer and wider than the ones they were replacing. I did not have a problem in any of my devices that use these batteries. I imagine this would work fine in most places, so long as the battery compartment isn’t tight, where you may find a problem with the battery size.
Excellent batteries at an amazing price. It's always nice to have these on hand for small electronics or, in my case, for smoke detectors. You should change the batteries in them every spring, and with this 8-pack there's no excuse not to. Each battery comes individually wrapped, which will keep them fresh, but it is a bit of a pain to remove without a pair of scissors or a knife. Other than that this is a great deal.
These batteries provide the same or better performance than name-brand products for a lower price.
According to my voltage meter, they actually have a higher out-of-the-box capacity than name-brand batteries that I purchased just a few weeks ago. So you're getting at least equivalent quality.
And then there's the fact that these are guaranteed to hold their capacity in storage for ten years, compared to five years for leading brands.
Finally, I like the convenient package they come in - an easy-open cardboard box, with each battery individually shrink-wrapped, which is great for placing in a battery drawer without fear of shorting out the power connectors.
All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with these batteries.
This eight pack of 9 volt batteries is a good thing to have on hand for the many home electronics that take a 9 volt battery! These include at the very least use in a small transistor radio to use in power outages (FEMA recommends having a battery powered radio in case of power outages or natural disasters) and use as a back-up battery in most alarm clocks (always good to get up on time to get to work even if the power went out overnight). This eight pack is a good purchase because:
- Each battery had a 10 year shelf life (see picture)
- The batteries tested out very well on a battery tester (see picture)
- Each battery was individually shrink wrapped in plastic so it did not short out or drain voltage while in storage (see picture)
- The batteries have a well-made metal case which should prevent leakage (see picture)
- Better to have a few extra on hand than have an electronics item using this type of battery stop working after all the stores are closed or if weather conditions are bad!
I highly recommend this eight pack of 9 volt batteries (see picture) because they are well made and you just never know when you will need a new battery!
Pros: Well Made, 10 year shelf life, individually wrapped in plastic for protection, metal case for durability
If you switch out batteries before they wear out, like you do for smoke detectors, then there’s no need to buy the most expensive, longest lasting brands. Either way, you’ll be throwing away batteries that are still “good”. Besides that, a leading consumer magazine recommends that you choose batteries with a lower price, since their performance is so closely matched. I’ve got seven smoke detectors scattered throughout my house that I change the batteries out every other year and these HDX 9V batteries are perfect for that type use while saving me money.
Where are the 9V batteries when you need one?
I’m stocking up on HDX 9V batteries before another hurricane Irma or something to that degree leaves me without power for another 6 days.
Home Depot sells Alkaline 9V batteries quantity of 8 in a nice size box, not shrink wrap you have to fight to open when your in need
Many question the longevity of a store named battery in comparison to a battery that’s well known for its name.
Home Depot Guarantees if you reach into your junk drawer in 10 years looking for the much needed battery in the time of need, HDX alkaline 9V Guarantees their brand is good for ten years of storage.
I have been told “check the date on the battery itself” this is how I determine the right choice for me.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Good Size & Weight, Light Weight, Long-Lasting, Strong
